| Even given their recent track record of success would any Wire fans want McDermott & Lowes as our next management team.

I'd rather have Mike & Bernie Winters than those two.

Well said
Getting a new contract on the table and getting Smith to sign should be S Moran's top priority.

| My top targets would be:
1. Brian Smith
2. Ellery Hanley
3. Brian Noble
4. Stephen Kearney
5. Daryl Powell
6. John Kear
Kearney is a difficult one, he was always very highly rated as an influential and charismatic leader, got great ratings as an assistant, won the World Cup as Kiwi coach, but then when he was head coach at Parramatta it was a total disaster. Nevertheless I would be open minded to giving him a shot at Wire.

I think Ellery Hanley has been out of the game for too long now personlly I wouldn't mind seeing if Willie Poching was capable of making step up from assistant like Shaun Wane

| I don't think it would be a good idea to give Poching the job. If a lot of players retired and we were in a period of transition then Poching would be set up to fail, and the fans would very quickly turn on him if we slipped slightly. I reckon Poching should prove himself at a lower club first and get his head coaching mistakes out of his system.
Because we have been successful in recent years under Tony Smith, fans expectations will be high so we need a relatively big name to come in.

True although hopefully talk of Tony's replacement will be put on the back burner for a while with the signing of a new deal

I wouldn't judge Kearney too much on his tenure at Parra, they have been a bit if a basket case for a while. My 'top' target, should we not be able to secure Smith would be Craig Bellamy. He is out of contract at the same time, if we could get him, well, you know we can all dream.

I think there is more chance of us signing footballer Craig Bellamy

| We cannot afford to go down the route of Poching or Long. Neither has the experience required to run our club. With Long specifically, i'd be very concerned at the culture sliding back down the scale, and if that happens, we could continue to have a star studded team and end up back where we were under PC.
Craig Bellemy, Des Hasler, or Daniel Anderson (former Saints coach) would be my targets how impossible they may be to attract. We need to do whatever is required. If TS leaves it has got to be a solid replacement IMO.

| As good as Bellamy is, I wonder how many Wire fans would moan if we changed to the Melbourne style of structured attack and more specifically the wrestling techniques in defence like they did about Maguire when he took over at that lot?

| Sheens is available, but he's an old moaning sod and under achieved with a Tigers side that should have done a hell of a lot better than it did.

| IMO when that sad day arrives then we aim for the best, whether available or not, and if necessary gradually lower our sights from there. There is a good chance that when we're looking for a new coach we'll be in transition and replacing the old guard - that is not a good time to take a flyer on an unproven assistant whether from within or elsewhere.

I can only agree with 50% of your post Mr T. I would expect the club to be set up well and a bit more stable than you suggest when TS moves on. Although no one knows for certain, I don't think he is the kind of guy to leave us in the lurch.

| If he was going to sign he would have signed by now, and I think he will leave us at the end of 2013 needing a rebuild. He will hope to go out on a last hurrah of a GF win with the "last chance saloon" squad members.
