| Wire needed to respect possession a bit more in my eyes, it was unlucky for them.
For the life of me I neither understand boasting before a big match/season nor taking the after the event of another team.
All of the top teams will beat each other in the years to come, and all will have pops at trophies. Taking the now just sets you up for a fall later.
I do feel for some Wire fans though, looking on these forums sometimes I was quite looking forward to you losing out at the last hurdle just to shut you up, but then I got talking to one the other day who was a good laugh (even when I said I was a Wigan fan after the Leeds experience last week) and was really looking forward to his club hitting highs after so long, fans like him I feel for, while other on here deserve all the crap they will get.

| I was sat in the Warrington end of the North Stand and the feeling I got with the fans around me was that Warrington just had to turn up to get the win...
How wrong could they be?
Don't be too down-heartened by the defeat! It won't be the last time we see Warrington in a Grand Final and its great to see another team join the Big "4".

| We played our best on the day and I couldn't ask more from the boys. Its been a rough few years but we're finally getting there.
I know some questions are always asked. And I for one will never be a massive fan of the playoff system in that i can't justify how a team can have a quiet season then win the league. However saying that I still respect the play off system and how it is the trophy that a team needs to win.
Wire have played their hearts out and whether we won or loose I think I speak for all true wire fans when I say Warrington is truly proud of our team, I know I am.

Wire lost because they thought they won it when they walked on the pitch, which further fuelled that after Myler scored within the first couple of minutes.
Did Westerwood touch the ball or make a tackle? I cant remember him doing anything and must be the quietest game he has had this season.
When Wire went four up in the second half Leeds were giving you the game by forcing the play, if you scored or at least took control of the ball you would have won.
Forgetting the last four years or so how long can this team last for? Wiggy last night must have said around 60 times that Morley played in the very first GF. Briers, Hodgson, Westwood, Higham, Monoghans, Wood, CArvell also. I know that as a counter arguement you can say that there is Atkins, Myler, Ratchford, Hill, Cooper (I think he's fairly young), Riley. The same can also be said of the Leeds team however the new players such as Hardacker, BJB, Watkins, Ward have all won the GF.

You really didn't! The way Warrington have performed over the past 2/3 seasons you had more than enough to beat Leeds today. Like many Warrington fans around me I thought you only had to turn to today to win. However like many Wigan fans last Friday, you underestimated Leeds and they once again shown how to win the Grand Final, despite not being the best team over the course of the season.

Totally agree! The stuff I heard from Warrington fans around me sat in the North Stand was baffling and they genuinely believed they only had to turn up to win. Leeds were there for the taking and considering it was 14-14 at half time despite Warrington only being in the Leeds half 2/3 times I thought they would see out the game in the 2nd half. However for me, the stand out players of the season for Warrington let you down. Briers kicking and last tackle options weren't good enough and Westwood was non-existant when the going got tough, add to the fact Leeds best spell was when Westwood was off the field?
I thought Warringtons best players were Myler and surprisingly Grix, two players whos position in the team has been heavily questioned throughout the season.
Seriously though do not be too down-heartened by the defeat Leeds clearly are a champion side and Warrington will be in many more finals over the years I have no doubt!

I knew we'd have to do something special to win. we may not have been our best but we were our best [uon the day[/u. as in we could do far better I know. but I know that we worked extremely hard. Albeit a few dodgey ref calls (IMO) we played not top notch but well. I think We were getting frustrated with ourselves and that's where most the errors stemed from. We were nervous on the inside. Though we didn't show it, some of our plays did

I must admit that I thought BJBs try was from a forward pass! I thought that Briers showed a lot of inexperience, especially as all he was resorting to was the high bomb. The Grand Final is always a different experience compared to the Challenge Cup even more so when you are playing a team of Leeds' ability. Leeds defence was awesome and no one can deny that. Everyone knew it would take a similar effort from them like they produced against Wigan and they managed it!

| There really are some Feckwits on these boards! Warrington played a decent game last night, Leeds played a better one. Both teams turned up, both put the effort in and the best team won. Leeds have a real Grand Final mentality. That doesn't detect from the effort Wire put in getting there.

=#BF0000I can only think of two incidents in which Silverwood got wrong and both involved Hall, the forward pass which led to a try was never forward and was flat at best and a knock on from Hall which he never gave. Other than that I can't think of any others.
=#4040BFAs stated in on another post I said Leeds were almost giving you the match when you were 4 in front. You just needed Briers to take control or Westwood to do what he has been doing all season and you would have been home and dry, unlucky maybe next year sounds familar though

"quiet season" !!!!!
We had to prepared and peak early to win the World Club Championship then to get to the CC final at Wembley (well done to Warrington) and finally peak for the playoffs.
The whole idea of a playoff system is that all have a chance of winning with the top 4 having a handicap advantage. Because Leeds have now twice become champions from 5th place shows the competion works well. Had it been a top 5 competiton these last 2 years Leeds would still have won it. So whats the difference?
The truth is the best team won it again.

This. Its funny how all the trolls that have suddenly come out from under their stones didn't come on here when we won the CC 3 out of the last 4 years, or topped the league last year. Success breads jealousy I'm affraid.
Wire have had a great season winning a trophy, getting to the 2 major finals, finishing 2nd in the league and winning the U20's league. I think winning the U20's league is probably the most pleasing and has me very excited for the future, as we obviously have great times ahead when you look at our youth squads development and its set up.
Unfortunately we weren't good enough last night but I'd rather be in our position of improving season-on-season rather than moving backwards and having to live in the past.
