| Quote ="Asgardian13"Yes, but we were only 8 points in front at that stage, had very little posession in the HKR half, and were under the cosh. Sensible play would have been to make steady progress upfield and end with a kick to turn the game around again.'"
Agreed. It seemed to be offload at all costs.

| Dont mind us throwing it around but Hull KR came back into the game and we had no field position so just needed a couple of basic sets to force them back down field as we was only 8points in front. Speed of the game was very slow which is why the game had no atmosphere.

| I thought that we were a bit loose yesterday too, too much for me. I'd like to see us complete sets at times, when we've gone 5 minutes without the ball, just to settle it. I love in general terms our attitide with ball in hand, I just think we overdid it somewhat yesterday. That said, we're obviously uber confident in our defence that when we do spunk posession we don't cost ourselves and it's a good fallback.
I'd also like to see more of our sets that go the distance (they are few & far between) not always end up with a Briers Up'n'Under, I think we do that at times to keep the ball on the field and back our fitness etc, but it does bore me really, I hate those kicks.
It wasn't vintage, we got the job done. We're producing some terrific plays and scoring some great tries, really does seem petty these days pointing any criticism at the team & coaching staff.

| KR came with a game-plan of taking us on down the middle, and fortunately for us, they were clueless on the final ptb. We got sucked into a down the middle game, and our mistakes came from trying to rush the play. In the 2nd half, when they realised they had to score points, the game opened up, with Hodgson,Dobson and Hall wanting to move the ball about.
Warrington's defense was excellent when it needed to be, but imo, KR are not getting the credit they deserve. A 14-18 point victory would have been a more realistic scoreline, than the flattering 32 points.
The problem Warrington have now, is supporters expectancy. Expecting us to score off every move, length of the field tries etc, but sometimes, as like sunday, some results have to be ground out.

| I agree LW, the scoreline did indeed flatter us, but, don't think that the majority expect us to score off every move. I tend to agree with JWP and a few in the South East voiced similar that more completed sets would serve us better especially against stronger opposition no disrespect to KR where loose ball will get punished.
I don't think it was a boring game but frustrating....probably so, like an early season run out. BTW last season was a real struggle IIRC so onwards and upwards

| Quote ="back2back 09/10"i read in the programme yesterday that smith was looking to play a slower rugby this year? this mite have a ittle something but to slow it down that much has got to be down to kr players holding down and the ref not picking up on it.
[uperhaps silverwood slows the play down so that he can keep up with the play[/u?'"
nail on the head. he can't waddle fast enough if its a quick ptb

It was frustrating as Hull KR were awarded the opportunity of slowing the PTB down without earning the right to do so. Having lots of bodies in the tackle, doesn't always equate to being dominant.
