| Everyone. Friendlies, testamonials, Milwaukee, NZ, the lot, also throw in a lot of GB, England and Lancs/ Yorks games, CC finals etc.
Quite an achievement imo, though it seems there are a few on here with a hint of jealousy. As far as I know Craig, I've never known him to tell other people how to live their lives, so how he lives his, is his concern.
What makes the achievement more remarkable, is the fact that for the vast majority of the years, he also went to watch an awful lot of shi-ite regarding Warrington, it's not as if he started watching a good team (like Widnes, Hull fc of that era). It's very easy to jump on a bandwagon when the team are doing well, but when the wheels fall off Warrington ( which they inevitably will), I know 1 person who will carry on going when the rest of the fair-weather fans will not.

I don't pay attention to what Widnes fans say really, plus, I'm banned from their board on here so I don't read it.

Good post. I'll admit that I am bloody jealous, but good luck to the lad, he's doing something that I would love to have done and he'll remember it for the rest of his life.

If he's your new kind of postman, he'll turn up at the game 6 hours later than normal, and leave red elastic bands scattered all around the stadium.

| Quote ="oli30045"They did, I'm sure. I think the thing is though that this is a preseason game in Australia. I would have enjoyed to go, but I think it's spending a lot of money for one preseason game. Had this been the WCC or some other proper game then I wouldn't comment on it. Fair play to him for the rest of the games, it's a great achievement, but for me this is one step too far.
Just a question about the 1000 games, it's ofer 27 years, which is about 37/38 games a season. Is he including all preseason games and others? Obviously I've not been watching all that time, so was their more trophies which got this value right up?'"
its one step too far,,blimey hes going to watch a game of rugby and have a bloody good time good on him...blimey the flak the lad is taking is ridiculous..

| Quote ="getdownmonkeyman"The loan is coming from the public coffers.
What chances your employer would give you a company loan, whilst taking three-plus weeks leave?'"
And the loan will be going back into public coffers in its entirety, presumably plus a bit of interest too. I'd have thought there would be no more secure an investment than a loan to an ordinary employee.
I can't believe we're going down the 'well it doesn't happen in my company' route again as a route to slagging off public sector workers, it's so dull. My employer would probably make itself a few quid and gain a better morale among its workers if it offered reasonably-priced loans to employees.

| I'm guessing he was amongst the elite that went to see us against Catalans all those years ago? You know, when Briers (I think it was Briers) quoted the magic number of true fans.

To be honest I don't think there is much guess-work required. I suppose there is a clue soemewhere in the story to whether he went to that match or not.

| i think its an amazing achievement. ive travelled a bit to watch sport, and he will have an amazing time. the places where he is going are some of the best in the world, and to catch a wire game tops it.
for next years preseason i hope they come down my way!
p.s....is he the guy who used to sell the "house of pain" or was it "t,f and the wire" outside of wilderspool?

Craig did sell "The House Of Pain" & he also did some of the interviews in the magazine.
"The House Of Pain" was sold under the 5A bus stop at Wilderspool. Not sure if Craig still lives at Paddington.

| Quote ="Monsieur Invisible"Craig is an unassuming supporter who cringes at being labelled a “Superfan” or the suggestion that he should be rewarded by the club for his commitment. He never, ever mentions his feat to anyone and will only talk about it if repeatedly badgered to do so.
It’s inevitable that he will be labelled “sad” by some, but if you think that a home game demands three hours, and the average away game, about five or six hours of your week, and Wires play for only eight months of the year, I dare say that many other people spend far more time, on average, spouting their opinions on internet rugby league forums, which by the way, is something Craig never does. Who’s the sadder?
It’s the same with the “Awww, bless him” attitudes, which intimate that a more rewarding and socially acceptable use of 20+ years of one’s life is to get married and raise a family. They should note that there are many who view these lifestyle commitments with reciprocal sympathetic bemusement….”Can’t do anything interesting with your day because you’ve got entertain the kids – aww bless.”
He’s got a bird, by the way. Non-feathered.'"
Top comment Monsieur Invisible. Craig is a great bloke and his knowledge and appreciation of the greatest game, surpasses his love for the Wire.
