| Dont think it will really matter which side we pick, just dont see us getting anywhere near Aus on NZ, looking very poor sides.

| Quote ="Rob Wire"People have been argueing for a while now that the England/GB team should be picked on form, suprised nobody has picked Kirk Yeaman as he's been the in form english centre this year.
I'd go for something similar to this, yeh a few picks are brave but it can't do any harm rewarding form players like Jodie Broughton ahead of the likes of Ryan Hall, and yes no Widdop as i see Lomax as a more natural stand off than him and Widdop isn't going to replace Sam Tomkins. Ben Jones Bishop is another winger knocking on the door.

2. T Briscoe

13. S Burgess (sorry can't have O'Loughlin at this level)
14. Luke Robinson
15. G Ellis
16. P Wood
17. E Crabtree'"
Your opinion that Lockers isnt good enough for this level yet still pick Crabtree and Broughton to name 2 is enough to confirm your clueless.

How many times is it now that O'Loughlin has been tried at test level and most of the time he's looked like a fish out of water or has been virtually anonymous ?
Broughton is one of the quickest wingers we have in this country, he won king of the sprints recently. He's scored some spectacular tries for Salford, what you have to remember with him is that he's playing in a poor side and most of the time he'll get poor service so he's done well to score as many tries as he has. Put him in a saints, warrington or wigan side and he'll score a shed load.
If we were willing to give that joker Peter Fox a run out at international level then Broughton certainly deserves a look, he can't look as clueless as Ryan Hall did on his last run out at international level.
As for Crabtree, he's certainly had the measure of us in recent games against Huddersfield before our win recently. Who do you suggest then, Ryan Bailey, Danny Ward, Lee Radford, Stuart Fielden ?

| O'Loughlins looked class when he played for England. One of the better players in beaten teams and in 07 probably our best overall forward

For try scoring maybe, but as a complete centre, he is off the pace of Bridge, Atkins, Reed and Shenton. And sadly, all of them are miles off the pace of GI, Hodges, Kenny-Dowell, Tonga etc.

At least a 'turnstyle' would offer some resistance.

Thats the problem we've had with past GB/England teams where a lot of the regular names at international level were picked on name rather than being picked on their current form, the 2 best props in the league in recent times have been Carvell and Graham.
I wouldn't pick Moz on the bench as he's more of a starting prop than an impact prop, you want quicker more agile players to come on from the bench once the initial sting has gone out of the game to take advantage of players not being as fresh as they were at the start, its the same reasons why you wouldn't want to start Ben Westwood from the bench as he's at his best when mixing it with the opposition rather than being an impact player.
Both him and Moz are relentless at what they do and they both do it really well, its just we have a couple of props that are in better form at the min and the England team should be picked on form.

Absolutely brilliant finisher with good footwork too. Has more pace than people give him credit for but certainly doesn't have genuine pace like Briscoe.
Not better as an overall package then the likes of McGilvary & Briscoe who I think are better. Personally, I'd have him over Ryan Hall but I wouldn't pick him for the England team at this stage in his career.

| Why aren't people putting Widdop in there? Been fantastic for a side thats near the top in the NRL.
Tomkins
BJB
Bridge
Yeaman
Briscoe
Widdop
Brough
Graham
Roby
Carvell
Westwood
Ellis
O'Loughlin
Lomax (as hooker/half back)
Morley/Mossop (if AM manages to return this year)
Crabtree (he has troubled the Aussies, and although he hasn't been great this year I can't think of any other decent props that would be likely to cause even a little bit of trouble)
Joel Tomkins (offers some utility in the backs as well as being a pretty decent 2nd rower!)
Obviously no burgess as he's injured, and I don't know much about the centre playing in the NRL who qualifies for us.
IMO, the only spots left for consideration are the centre positions, Yeaman is untested and Bridge isn't secured in the side yet.
BJB and Briscoe should be our wingers, two quality young talents. Although BJB is inexperienced, he just seem to have that extra bit of quality than the likes of Hall (imo)

It's a shame that it looks as though Morley could miss out and Burgess is already ruled out. I'd give Jack Reed a crack as he can't be any worse an option then Shenton. I'm not sure Tom Briscoe is up to the task physically and would go with a couple of bigger men in Foster and Jones Bishop.
