From the games I've seen this season, Wigan's main contenders are S. Tomkins and Hoffman. Dureau was the most impressive opposition player I've watched this season by far, he ripped us apart single handedly. Not seen much of other teams due to not having Sky.

Also, if he keeps up his recent form, Lee Mossop will walk young player of the year, he's been unstoppable lately.

I think Briers has been outstanding this year but wont get man of steel (dunno why he will be overlooked!)

Dereau is a good shout but only if Catalans pick up the pace!


Hodgeson been amazin top point scorer up there in assists!


Roby has been lets say the string thats held saints together


Joel Tomkins i think has been best forward at wigan


Watkins at leeds has been a revelation for them such skill for a young player


But only half way through so need to narrow down options through next half should be an exciting run in though

ima go with u saddened,its just like leeds without peacock and sinfield,but when they come back into the team you can see the change in dicipline and how the team works better more than when they are without them!

peacock is a worrior up front i wont be suprised if he comes a real contender at the back end of the season...

He was a front runner at the start of the season, but has barely been sighted the last couple of months.

Nominations for me would be Roby, Brough, Dureau, and Briers and Westwood from the mighty Wire.

Pat Richards, Ryan Hall, Ade Gardner, Henry Fa'afili, Justin Murphy, Mark Calderwood.

Thats 2005 up until last season top try scorers - 1 out of 6 have been made Man of Steel and I cant remember any of the other 5 even being mentioned for Man of Steel, never mind winning it.

James Roby has to incontention as does Rangi Chase of Cas.

Maybe top pointscorers might have been more accurate then, your Jamie Lyon, Brett Hodgson, Pat Richards types. You win.

I think Hodgson is our biggest shout for this year personally.

Brough for mine. However, Sintellins would be lost without Roby so he should be considered. From Warrington, most influential have been Hodgson and Briers (would he get votes form other players though?) although Morley might be in with a sentimental shout again.

How is the old man doing this season? I've not seen much of the mighty Wire this season but I remember thinking he looked pretty weathered at the end of last season.

Stats wise this year he's dropped a metre per carry or so and seems to be missing a fair few tackles?

Is he still coming up with his game changing bone shakers?

He still has plenty of presence, probably slowing down a bit but still very fit and capable of a full eighty minute game. Life in the old dog yet.
