| Sorry to see the end of engage, they've been good sponsors imo.
Will be intersting who takes over, hard times etc. A big name national company may reflect in a change in attitude towards RL.

The above article the other day stated that the RFL were looking to increase SL to 15 teams, but that bit has now been removed! Cat out of the bag before licences are confirmed? Interesting....

| We should (maybe) bet a "name" that's got a big national awareness, but is based around Salford...as that's where the BBC's sports dept. are going to be based in future. Maybe we'll get a teenyweeny bit more exposure, then.
Seriously, outside of Rugby League knowledge, who'd know what engage actually do....probably not many of us.

| 7 years eh?
i remember back when they first came on board there was a lot of hmmmm, and people weren't familiar with them.
Has their brand expanded much during that 7 years of having their name pushed out there to a reasonable audience?
For you finance types out there, whats Engage's position in the market now, are they one of the bigger boys?

They are a bigger brand up North for sure I would say, not sure in the South.

Yes, but they are currently negotiating new TV deals and a new headline sponsor deal. Also, many clubs are managing to grow their turnovers. If the finances are right and the clubs want to go ahead, they can agree to change that decision ahead of the licensing decisions in July.

| It will NOT be the Carnegie super league, the university has lost most of it's money and struggles to work on the budget they have now in the advertising department, a mate of mine who is at the uni with me did his dissertation on the carnegie branding of the CC and the likes, and he got a lot of very good info, which basically said the uni can't afford to sponsor the CC anymore but will still continue to, and the fees being raised are outrageous.
I paid 2,000 for each of my 3 years at uni, and wouln't have even considered Leeds Met at 8,500 per year. Most of the student's there complain that we don't get 2,000 a year's worth, so i can't imagine how ripped off i would feel if i had to pay 8,500.

| Accordinig to the Times business section, Superleague is the second most watched sport on Sky after footie.
Some attraction there for a big name sponsor, surely.

What are you "buying" for your £2000, £3000, £8500 or £9000?
How much does it cost to run Leeds Met and where should they get their money if not tuition fees?
