If you're in Hull at the moment, just call the Saints shop on Monday and order a ticket from there instead. You may end up surrounded by Saints fans, but hey, we're a nice bunch on the whole. I am tempted.
I think that more tickets will come out for wire. the number is so small. I think there will be ST holders in Warrington feeling it is raw.
If push came to shove though I would. I bought my ticket for the playoff match from Saints shop for fear of a mass surge at Warrington. It didn't happen like.

i would be vexed because i have shown my commitment to the club by buying a season ticket....i have paid to watch all the home games upfront...... i should get priority on away games....
i don't have a season ticket this year because of work commitments.... and i would have no problem missing out on an away ticket if they were all bought by season ticket holders.
they should get priority... they are committing in a way that should enable them to get benefits non season tickets holders don't.
i really cant see why people are so upset about this.

| I could easily afford a season ticket and if it was possible i would snap one up every year BUT they swap the days around Friday/Saturday/Sunday, Sky switch games with minimum notice and i have an irregular work pattern.
Now if i was off on the day of the Saints game normally i would order my tickets and come up but not being a season ticket holder puts an end to that.
If it was to happen at a home game though I'd feel less aggrieved, because i agree with that principle of season ticket home priority.

They commit because their life circumstances allow them to, i do some serious mileage to watch Wire but can't get to every game NOW if i was lucky enough to be off that day i still couldn't watch the game due to being 'minimum priority'.
I'd be upset because my limited windows for watching Wire are even more limited now

Do you not think that the reason the club is doing this is due to the fact the capacity of the Stobart Stadium is less than Knowsley Road? It's a possibility, though I cannot recall if the same thing happened last season at KR. I'm sure someone can confirm.
Quote ="jdrocket"The best option would be for a separate bilateral (or parallel) scheme for away matches. A priority card if you will. A fancard, as '74 mentioned earlier on, could be a pretty good idea. It can be prioritised dependant on how many home/away games you have been to in previous seasons, especially for the big games.

Ah, the old true fan debate rears it's ugly head once again. So because I have a season ticket, I'm not a true fan. Just because I like in Sankey and travel 2 miles to the ground rather than coming from Hull or London I'm not a true fan. I think [iyour[/i logic is flawed there.

I am personally upset because, as i have said previously, they do not have the mandate for this. They sold the season ticket the principles of: home games are a lot cheaper| CC advantages| discount in store| priority in the playoffs+ other smaller rubbish. That is what the populace agreed to when either buying or not buying the season ticket. If two months ago they said they were introducing priority away matches. I would be slightly upset, cause i would still feel they had no right and it is no way cost effective to me, but then the sales of Season tickets would reflect the decision they made.
I would feel just as annoyed if they said that none season tickets would be pelted with rotten fruit at matches.

I'm not getting in to the true fan/uber fan debate but i do agree that a card that you swipe that registers the games you attend and gives you a points system.
You then qoute your number or present your card and they(the club) go sorry not enough points or yes you are a top priority fan.

| The club cannot please everybody, but I think they've made the right decision here. If it wasn't allocated on a Season Ticket priority, then it would have to be allocated on a first come first serve basis, which isn't fair as people have other commitments. I like my idea of the Fancard and with each home and away game tickets you purchase the number of points go on your fancard, it would easily be the fairest way and would encourage more people to go the games they wouldn't normally go, like the Yorkshire trips in order to recieve priority for the big games like Saints and Wigan.

No you have missed my point. It is my fault. I was trying to discredit the "true fan" approach. I was saying that the true fan is a myth as the point you have raised. Who is the bigger fan me or you? i come home a few times a year for the convenient matches and go to the yorkshire matches, sometimes staying over in the towns if it is late on a Friday as the trains stop at night; while you go to every home game and probably many away games. You have been more games, i have been more miles but it doesn't mean anything. We will never know.
I may have just confused the issue more. But i am certainly not one who has the elitist view on fans.

Same here. I'm sick to death of debating what constitutes a true fan.
Anyway, the fancard option seems to be the most popular and the one that would probably be the easiest to bring to the table. I do understand what you mean regarding points based. If they could bring both those elements together as one, it sounds like it could work.

Unlikely. I can afford one. I will be getting a half season ticket if they do them again this year.
The cost to return on the purchase in both time and money to go from Hull to Warrington 13 times a year would be too much, as well as the many away games I get in.
However, if they said this was a condition of the season ticket at the start, so be it. They have not though.
Have they ever done this before for a normal away match? I don't think they have. They have gone completely out of the normative contract with this. Their reasons are their own but i feel a little disgruntled with the turn of events.

I agree but the unfortunate thing about this topic is that the crux of it is who is deemed the most worthy, or who is the most deserving fan; the biggest fan.
Wolves and many on this topic seemed to have decided that the tickets should go the the most deserving fan (which has been mentioned in those words i believe). Those being the season ticket holders (as there is no other finite way of determining it)
The only alternative is with the fan card as mentioned. Cold hard numbers. "You have been to 27 matches last year, you get a priority ticket." "you have been to one Wigan game last year, you will have to wait/" I agree with that system. In fact i think it should be rolled out next year.
If we determined everyone was an equal fan, then it should be first come first serve. They have shown they are a fan by turning up at ten to eight to wait in the cold for an hour and a half.

I think LFC or Wolves had a card that was tied to you and you could buy your ticket online and then just swipe it at the turnstyle.
The same could be applied at Wire. You have a card similar to the HMV or Gamestation card. When you go in they swipe it. It gives you points. When they call a match a priority match you have to spend those points.

| Ok what about this
Automatic 10 points for being a season ticket holder
10 Points for a Catalan away game
9 Points for a London game
8 Points for Hull FC/KR
7 Points for Castleford/Wakefield/Leeds/Bradford
6 Points Huddersfield/Crusaders
5 Points for Wigan/Saints/Salford
2 points for a home league game, 5 for a CC game
10 Points for every away CC game (because the crowds are usually lower)
5 points for every shirt you buy or every purchase over the value of an adult shirt price.
At the end of the season you are given a rating which carries you on to the next season.

to be honest, from a business perspective it makes a lot of sense. Why anger those that have already bought into the company and shown some allegiance. There is a great risk of lost revenue.
But the fairest way is to sell them as is usual. This is for several reason. 1) it is the norm. One game out of twenty seven where they hold them back for season ticket holders means they are giving one set of fans an advantage that they wouldn't usually give. 2) as i have said and don't want to sound like a broken record, this was never agreed. The have gone back on a trust.
