Havent found a decent one yet in warrington soggy batter everywhere

This isn't a bad shout, as a chicken donner from Top Taste is pretty nice, but fish, chips, peas and curry from Greenwood is pretty close to an orgasm of the tastebuds.

Chicken meat and chips from there is spot on.

Not really into chippers,but for a chinese it has to Padgate Rose.

Yeah. I were there not long ago. Absolutley spot on service and top food. Best indian I've ever had. 5/5 for me.

If anybody want's to go for a nice meal out try the white apron near wilkies tavern. My cousin gaz is head chef and the food is top drawer.

went that peacock near asda birchwood last week, two for one , top meal and peroni on draught!!!!!

Been a couple of times no complaints top food great service staff very pleasant bit pricey but you only get what you pay for.

If you manage to go Rusholme may i recommend The Muglawi same as the cottage only you can take your own drinks,right opposite is a ice-cream parlour with just about evert ice-cream imaginable well worth a visit...

The Cottage has been fully refurbed about 2 months ago.

Cannot argue with any of those. Take a boo son. Although, Mike and Marthas really isn't the best when it comes to chinese. The best chippy in warrington by far though and i tend to try a different one each week when i am out and about. The orford fryer is round the corner from my house and i still don't go, terrible chippy. If you are thinking of going, just drive down northway to the bottom and go The Chip Inn instead, the gravy is different class in there.

Hidden gem is the Parksway chippy (sic).

Suprisingly, yes. Small portions admittedley but the taste is impeccable.

I think the Chip shop industry is in a sorry state to be fair….the finest Chip shop bar none used to be the Neptune bar in Stockton heath (now Called Pannys I think)..They smelt like chips, looked like chips, and tasted like chips. The menu was roughly about the size of an A3 piece of paper…..Chips, Fish, Sausage, peas, Beans, gravy, Curry, and a selection of pies.
That’s all you need….

Then a close 2nd and 3rd were The two Harry’s Chip shops, the one opposite Vicky park and the one next to Penketh paints near the borough arms. Sadly like a good old fashioned pub they have long gone. (turned to a Chinese takeaway/chipper)

now its all sorts of junk on sale, burgers, Salt n pepper Chips, donna meat… what’s a chip shop doing Donna meat for ?…for that you go to a Kebab Shop.

And the worst of all sins is those places that cant cook chips properly from a fresh potato. Usually a Chinese Chip shop…they have them half cooked and waiting in the chipping basket ready to be re-dipped in the hot fat giving the appearance they have been freshly cooked.

I really would struggle to name one Chip shop that does consistently good, fresh, non Soggy Chips….

That statement says rather more about yourself than the good people of Orford, and has nothing to do with chips. Surprised you don't call em' "French Fries" anyway!

At this point I must say that the chips (not tasted the fish yet) at the old Padgate Station ticket office taste best, but I've not got round to test all your recommendations yet.
