somebody was having a crafty in the bog flicked the butt over the top landed in a stock room then when the fax fans started running onto the pitch the fev fans thought they were under "attack" and started jumping the advertising boards caused a whole load of myther then the fax fans were told they could go back to the stand,then changed their minds and asked them to move them to the east stand. when they closed the bar "early" (even though they had an extra 1/2 hour due to the delay)they all started kicking off. There was quite a few skirmishes in both the south and east stands towards the end got a little hostile

The Police closed the bars and didn't take into account the delay.

What a bad day for our sport.

It does embarrass me the state of some RL fans,stupidly drunk,falling over,vomiting,fighting with oppositon/own fans.

I witnessed all of them today, genuinely ashamed.

Im all for a having a drink or 2 at away games,having a laugh with mates and some good banter but there is a line.

Went to PNE v Norwich City last week,and not a word out of place...not a hint of aggro all night,but arnt all football fans scum?

PNE hoolies were saving it for Wigan in t'cup, though, to be fair.

Could still play at the HJ if it was a pile of rubble. You played at Knowsley road for over 100 years.

In answer to the comments of "bad day for sport" how about looking at it this way.

Fire in stand, all spectators left safely. Now thats got to be a good result!

Only people causing any bother were those tanked up on ale who had been drinking in town for god knows how long. Saw a lot of "mature" Fev fans who were trying to calm down the drunken louts once they realise what happened.

Hmm plenty of trouble at the ground - Mrs Piano was collecting for Help the Heroes & said she had never seen as much at the HJ, including fighting & abuse of stewards. When I picked her up afterwards there were a fair few fans of both teams looking for trouble & while most of it was idiots who couldn't take a drink their families must be incredibly proud of them, especially those who thought it would be ok to cause trouble in front of their own terrified children.

Let's not forget the fire was started by selfish Fax "fans" who couldn't wait for a cigarette another hour - nice work, maybe you would like your club charged for the costs incurred? And while the fire was started in a storage cupboard, the toilets stuffed full of toilet paper with cigarette buts around there indicate they knew exactly what they were doing & cared not one bit.

Incidentally, the Fax fan who dropped their drugs on the pitch - you can probably contact the club if you want to know what happened to them after the ball boys picked them up...

If that's the standard of behaviour from Fax & Fev "fans", well as far as I'm concerned you can stay in the Championship.

the stewards were (as always) a joke !! one near me and the missus was an absolute jobsworth (drafted in apparently from Fev) and in the end I confess I was quite sharp to her regarding her attitude that was crap at the best ........ stopping young kids from going to the front to congratulate their players, telling one guy he couldn't step over seats to avoid people having to stand up in his row, tried to tell me that I couldn't move from row B to row A when row A was completely empty ..... etc

in the end after the "fire" incident we moved to back of stand (top row) and one the Warrington stewards said "no problem" to move .....

the Fax and Fev fans were somewhat "alcohol fuelled" but let's be realistic it really was a very small minority (as always) that spoiled things for the majority; thought the police handled things well but the minority is still too many

For what should be a cracking day it seems to be in the last few years one that is full of high tension between the fans which could spark at any moment.

The banjo players of Fev were well up for it when the fax fans came onto the pitch.

One of the ball boys picked something up they thought was drugs not a clue if it was or maybe pain killers...

Plenty of smoking in the toilets and too much alcohol flowing.
