| glad only a couple have moaned about it...
what a great idea I'm having a think about it now...ive never been before and ive never thought about going either.......
and the people that Camp out in Wales in May...where is this area of hot dry sun drenched weather you all hint of.....?
the average rainfall for Cardiff is less in February than May....so try and think of the positives and one of those cold crisp cloudless and sunny days..... rather than thinking it will be grey and wet...like it is today at the height of summer and probably was in May....

| There's no pleasing Rugby League fans.
If the opening fixture was at at the HJ would you not go because it's February?
The roof will be closed so it will probably be better (still a bit nippy I'd guess but less so than an open stadium.)
This starts the season off with a real bang - I've never been to a Magic weekend but am well up for this one.
I just hope it gets a good turnout. I know if the weather is like last year it could make life difficult but there's risks with doing it in summer (people are on hols) so I think this is well worth a try and much better than the current set up of the champions playing a week before everyone else and not having a defined start to the season.
Good luck to the RFL I say - now get on with promoting it.

| The HJ is not a 4.1/2 hour journey on winter roads, home nice an warm in half an hour. That Stadium was cold in May.

| The idea of the Magic weekend is to get All the fans going to ALL the games. This will NOT happen in February.
Fans will watch their own teams and then drift off. The stadium will look empty.

| Instead of speculating why don't people give it a try and then form an opinion? It's an experiment it might fail it might not but they need to try to find out. As far as weather goes how do those Wendyballers cope ? Fair do's if it snows but seriously how often does it happen and the likely hood in that exact week? God rugby league fans can whinge.

| And just so you don't think you'll be able to watch the other games in the pub on t.v.
Rugby Union six nations
Saturday, February 12
England v Italy, 14:30
Scotland v Wales, 17:00
Sunday, February 13
Ireland v France 15:00
Wales play England in Cardiff the weekend before. The pitch will be in great condition.
Stupidity of the highest order.
Have we learned nothing of the great rip off in 2007 and 2008.

Why oh why are we trying to compete with the 6 nations? There will also be premiership football on as well meaning that RL will get squeezed for column inches even more than @ the moment

not all the fans went to all the games previously. loving rugby league is one thing. loving 7 games from the same seat is another. there will always be an element of people who drift in and out. cardiff is better than murrayfield for that, purely for the location. with it being winter tho, you have to wonder what entertainment will be on around the area to keep those not wanting to watch every match amused

| I haven't been, usually because i just can't justify the overall cost for which is just another league fixture. But you must see that the rfl have to try to see what works best, why not just go and watch your team for the 1 day to get a feel. Some people will love the idea some will hate it but surely real judgement can only come by experiencing it?

I've been to all four and like the concept. But what's the point of going to just watch MY team, that is not the idea. I can do that every week.
Do you think they will get more people watching Wigan v Saints in Cardiff in February or mid season at Wigan or Saints?
Do you think they will get more people watching Wire v Salford in Cardiff in February or mid season at Warrington or Salford?
People will watch there own game and go. The last game on Sunday will hardly have anyone there. It's not a bank holiday so people will head home.
I'm not usually negative, and have been to Aus three times, but IMO this is a recipe for disaster. As a RL supporter I really hope I am wrong.

| i thought the idea of this MM nonsense was to promote the game in other parts of the country.
The game will not take off in south Wales. (tried and failed) The vast majority of fans will be northern based yet again, with a very poor turn-out from locals.
And why the bloody hell, are the games being played mid-winter and coinciding with the national sport of Wales. National media coverage will be even less than we get now. absolute madness from the Red Hall!

| Am I missing something or have the fixtures actually been announced as 'derbies'? Totally against the extra fixture in the league season, but if it is to be maintained then IMO the only fair system is 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th, etc from the previous system.
For all the reasons already mentioned, I can't believe the RFL think they can host a magic weekend in February and compete for column inches/bums on seats against both The Premiership and Yawnion Six Nations. Can only imagine that they are getting the stadium cheap!
If we find ourselves playing wigan or Saints then I will probably make the effort, but should we be playing 'Quins or Wakey late on Sunday I will almost certainly be giving it a miss.

| He he. Guess Scottish expansion didn't play out afterall. The way the RFL played it out it was the new dream. What a waste of time of money (and I mean to the M62 RL supporters when I say that). If only the RFL knew beforehand that it was a NW sport afterall they could have invested accordingly.
They will admit defeat soon enough over Wales and I think the Ireland dream can rest in the "what a idea" file.

"nah I ain't going to see Warrington play their first competitive game of the season, It's too cold outside the stadium"
"But the games taking place inside?"
