Clarke remarked on Fielden's [iphysique[/i, not his strength, power or skill. Fielden does look the part, and always has, which is one of the reasons why we all struggle to understand why he's not the player he was five years ago at the Bulls. I don't understand this getting at Phil Clarke. He praises many, many teams when they are the ones on the screen. He always has very positive things to say about the Wire, for instance. I think he sees it as his mission to 'talk up' Rugby League in general. Maybe that leads to a few over-the-top comments, but his bias is towards RL, not any particular club.

He has to be there to balance out the negativity of Stevo.

Overall, Clarke is very good. It is just those 'did he really just say that?' moments.

It isn't. He brings up Wigan several times when they aren't even playing. I used to find him informative and interesting. Now I just find him tedious, cringeworthy and boring.
