LMAO, quality post. Being from Earlestown i dont find our little town that bad, but is it really as you make out? Get into Rosies for an hour while you wait, the girls in there have 6 fingers on each hand and the men have more fake tan than Phil Brown (ex Hull FC manager), but its a good pint!
For anyone thats from sunny Newton / Earlestown... Blue Lion pub 12pm, all day sesh, bus later in afternoon, few pints in St Helens then the match if anyone fancies it
Quote="'Hitman' Norvern Soul"It's the train back that'd be a nightmare. An hour long wait at Earlestown isn't my idea of a fun filled Friday night.

Earlestown isn't so bad to spend an hour in...The pub right over the road from the station surprisingly called*The Railway* is the local HQ of, how can I put it? Ladies who love each other. They're a very nice crowd.

I wouldn't know the way from Newton to Sankey having only been there (Newton) a few times in 1997 and that's it but I remember it being further away than an hour and fifteen minute walk unless you're very fast!
I've walked from St. Helens to Sankey a couple of times around the same period so my memory is vague but I think it took about two and a half hours.
I always walked to home games (at Wilderspool) when I lived in Sankey (near the Butcher's Arms) and that took about an hour.
It's a two hour cycle ride from where I live in Manchester to home games now and that's by far the best way to get to games in the summer.
