Just look at his stats for this season and that's for less than 60 minutes rugby he has played.

He's big, strong and runs in straight lines. He's also shown an ability to mix it around the middle and make 30+ tackles a game which is something he'll need to move into that position.
I think Wigans abundance of Backrowers may force Maguires hand aswell. We'll probably get Hock back halfway through next year and young Farrell needs a crack because he's quality.'"
Is that the reasoning for prop? Is he lacking in lateral movement?

I wouldn't say he struggles in terms of his lateral movement but he does tend to charge the ball in hard and straight. He may have 5 or 6 years in the backrow but one day down the line he's surely going to play at prop.
He reminds me of a young Jamie Peacock but I feel his move upto prop may come earlier then Peacocks did because of the amount of backrowers we have and will have in the years to come.
Either way he's an exciting player. He bullied Hull KR's pack on Friday night and thats impressive at the age of 20.

That's precisely my point. Less than 60 minutes.
Kevin Penny after 160 minutes of rugby was the best winger ever.

He's not had a huge deal of experience but it's more then 60mins worth.
He's probably played about 10 games for us and been very good and had a good loan spell at Huddersfield where he played 5 or 6 games in a winning side.
By all accounts Nathan Brown was very impressed with him.

He still is isn't he?
Smith is keeping him up his sleeve for when the sun comes out later in the year.

| From a Wigan point of view I'd have to go with Mossop and Farrell, two great prospects. Other teams - look out for Luke Ambler from Leeds, I think he'll go well maybe not this year but certainly next. Clough and Cooper have always impressed me whenever I've seen them as well.

| Lets give Lee Mitchell a mention too. Very highly rated by his colleagues at Warrington and apparently performing excellently at Leigh,
I thought Joel Tomkins was excellent last weekend. Stood out and made me take note! Much more so than Mossop for me. As NK says he's perhaps a bit in the shadow of Sam at the minute but I think thats a good thing. Too many young prospects believe their media hype all too quickly and ultimately fail to reach their full potential.

| From memory Ryan Shaw, Bobbie Goulding and James Lethwaite are all in the England u18's training squad. Shaw and Goulding are a year below that group as well.
Obviously the Evans' twins don't qulaify due to be Welsh, I'm sure at least one of them would have made the squad.
