Crozier must be loving it on £1m a year plus bonuses - second highest paid public employee in the country ...... what a joke.

i have nothing to apologise for, i think that is for the RM, its workers and the unions for getting themselves into this mess in the first place.
there is a compromise out there yet all three parties cant seem to agree to one...PATHETIC.

i dont know enough about the dispute to possibly say, as i said in my OP.
However, i do know that in any dispute there is always a compromise to be found and agreed to by all parties. The peace deal in Northern Ireland being one extreme example.

brilliant The most idiotic post i've ever seen on here.
great idea the Good friday agreement. release all our mass killers and we wont do anymore bombing.
the IRA and UDf are still running their sections in Northern Ireland. Prostitution, drug running, embezzlement, money laundering, arms selling are still rife in the country, it just does not get reported anymore.

| Quote ="Lefty"I would ask for a little patience and support to your local Postie during these hard times because if Royal Mail get their way you will see a much more expensive less frequent service than what you have now.
Those of you that don't live in a cost effective area for the company will then have to come and pick your mail up yourself (at a cost no doubt).
The only thing the postal workers are after is not to be bullied and harrassed into unagreed changes in the work place.
I just wish that some of you could go in and see what goes on so that maybe you would understand a little as to why the CWU have decided to take this drastic action. Nobody wanted this strike to go ahead but workers have been left with no choice.
It is NOT about money. There has been no pay rise now for the best part of 2 years. Everyone knows the business has to modernise, however there are ways and means to go about it.'"
Good post, Lefty.
I've not really ordered anything recently due to this strike action, so have not seen the impact.
However, the only issues I am having with post at the moment are the morons that come round with their rucksacks and start putting thousands of fast food leaflets through. It's starting to really irk me. But that's another discussion so I won't disrupt this thread.

| Nobody will pick up the Royal Mail as a commercial entity, the time and monies required to convert it into a commercial leviathan would be phenomenal.
Keep with the modernisation policy, as agreed between both parties and carry on as is. The only people to lose out on this will be the general public regardless of who ends up owning it.
This 'profit' that RM returned (how can a not-for-profit company declare a profit?), I assume it is going onto the pension deficit seeing as it has nobody to pay the surplus cash to.

The pension deficit which was essentially their fault when they took a payment break due to bad management? The only reason they post profits (324m) is so they can sell it on.

SOUND THE ALARM
We have a case of somebody not towing the line.
You are a disgusting individual who is unable to recognise the bravery, heroism of those brave men and women, risking their lives to occupy a foreign country, in the face of the illegal attempts of the natives to defend their territory.
These heroes take on the might of the Taleban forces with little more to defend them but some crap helicopters and jeeps with substandard armour, against one of the most fearsome military forces in history, that even beat off the Soviet Union. (Incidentally I notice that the Taleban give about as much of a poop about the £80bn Trident 'deterrent' as they did about the Soviets nuclear nal)
Live Wired I bet you would not have the balls to fly over and occupy somebody elses land in the name of Britain, you're probably one of these do gooders who goes protesting against war and animal rights testing and climate change, well have a think about why you enjoy the free and prosperous society that we all take for granted, because generations of British soldiers went bravely round the world and conquered the dark people, securing us natural resources that we could never have dreamed of finding at home, and getting us cheap labour (free labour before the do-gooders banned slavery) to enable us to make our small island one of the richest in the world.
Now have a think about the life you enjoy and repeat this mantra before you go to bed
"this is an essential job to stop terrorists using it as a training ground"

| Although in my job, I'd probably be thinking of ways to defeat the union (and Lefty), I know in my heart that the government's policy towards the Royal Mail is not one I support. Therefore I support the strike. For those of you who complain about it affecting you...well, that's the point. It wouldn't be much use if no one noticed!

| The Royal Mail will at some point go the same way as the Coal Industry and British Steel unless they change , I hope they go on permanent strike as it will mean no bills ! E-mail killed the RM not the government or the RM bosses whom are trying to keep it competitive in an ever shrinking market they should except the changes and move on before others step in and take more business off them imo !
