Anyway its a pointless argument but as Ulster Wire said no one ever calls the Cup winners "Champions" when there is a league competition in place of it. As in Football the league competition winners are Champions, then you have FA Cup and Carling Cup winners. Whoever win the Champions League is obviously Champions of Europe as there is no league competition in its place.

In the UK Ive never heard on TV or other media or even amongst other fans referring to cup winners as champions. If you said to someone with no RL knowledge that Wire were "champions" they would immediately assume we had won our league competition. When people use the term it sounds like were trying to pass ourselves off as SL winners. Probably not the case but its what it sounds like. Agree to Disagree?

If you were to talk to someone that had no knowledge of RL to say we were Champions of the Challenge Cup, they wouldn't know what the Challenge Cup is, although the Cup element of the name might stick in mind.

I could come up with a million examples of people referring to "Champions" in a cup competition, do i [ireally[/i need to do that?

I doubt anyone is trying to pass off as Super League champions, they're just enjoying the fact we have won a significant competion in sport, and so should you.

the reason we nearly finished bottom of the league was because we didnt have the right coach at the start of the season! When the correct coach was in place, i think you will find that we didnt have that bad of a record!
