aswell as Seniors excellent disciplinary record, there may have been some provocation from Wilkin that we weren't aware of. Senior did seem to take exception to something Wilkin had done or said - he was livid wasn't he.
and to be fair it was more of a slap than a punch, Wilkin went down like he had been shot by a sniper
'"
What about Seniors previous record for this very same (almost identicle) offence when he punched Barrie Jon-Mathers?
It may well have been a few years since he was last up before the commitee but you can't ignore his previous.

Are you sure about that? Would that be the same James Stosic that played in the next Wakefield game against Castleford after the incident? The same James Stosic who, following the incident, has played in all but one of Wakefield's remaining games?
Cunningham's punch was ridiculous and frankly he should have recieved a 1-3 game ban IMO, but please get your facts straight first.

The outcome is not as relevant as the intent. If Stosic escaped serious injury then he was very fortunate. That he did does not excuse cunningham or lessen the offence.

Do you not think they would say that? You were wrong Stosic was not seriously injured.

Look i totally agree. The decision is baffling and i'd be furious if it went against us. I'm absolutely not defending his actions at all.
I'm arguing with W_W_RLFC and yourself who has said he suffered a serious injury (which he didn't) and Les Boyd who said Stosic was forced to miss weeks (he wasn't)

is a fractured eye socket not serious enough for you?
Les Boyd will stand corrected if Stosic didn't miss any games following the incident.
I think that puts an end to the matter and we all agree that Cunningham was guilty of an offence and should have been banned rather than just getting his wrists slapped again.

My emails to the RFL were the day after the incident! When it was believed Stosic had broken his eye socket. As I said it was not a break it was a fracture as a guy I know at the Wildcats I have no reason to believe he was lying when he told me it was a fracture. His names Colin Sanctuary if you don't know who he is he is conditioning coach / physio!

You may be correct but then why wasn't that information given by the club in their article?
Forgive me for being cynical about it when they said it was broken while Cunningham was before the jury and Stosic was alledgedly out for weeks yet as soon as a decision was made it was downgraded to nothing/ potential fracture and he wouldn't miss any games.
Evidently it wasn't as serious as your suggesting if he could play the following week.

| I never once suggested he was out for weeks.
I suggested that Cunningham was guilty of much higher category of offence than he received!
If it was a Wire player that done it you can bet your bottom dollar 4 game ban!

Interestingly, whilst reading comments from the panel in regards to the Catalan match earlier this year...
Quote
The panel have no doubt that you are guilty of the charge being brought against you. It was a high swinging arm into the face of the opponent which made significant contact in the face of your opponent and knocked him unconscious. You jumped off the ground and the actions afterwards whilst the player was on the ground shows no remorse and a degree of malice. The panel feel that the grading is right and that this was an intentional blow to the head of an opponent. It caused injury to the player and shows that this was a significant blow. Your record shows that you have made an appearance here in each of the last three seasons.'"
So the RFL will grade their punishments according to how "sorry" you appear after you hit a player. What a ridiculous way to hand out punishments.

sorry your wrong! a compound fracture, greenstick fracture are both breaks, a fracture of the zygomatic arch is a break to the bone arround the eye socket, what your trying to do is equate a break as being more severe than a fracture, it's not. a compound fracture of a bone is pretty severe!
both a break / fracture to an eye socket or surrounding area can be either a tiny chip of bone or a complete colapse of the entire socket with severe multiple fractures, resulting in a ruptured eye ball! they are both fractures/breaks just on oposite ends of the scale.
can we put this to bed now.

More than two pieces of bone = comminuted.
Fractured bone breaking the skin = compound.
Completely separated = displaced.
