Lots of cricket talk.
I think it's weighted towards football, as the countries most popular sport, but the channel does a good job, with the ticker etc of reporting most sporting stories of relevance.'"
Nah, we used to have it constantly at work on 12 hour shifts. in my experience there was brief mentions of other sports, maybe theyll have a 15 minute slot once a week or something. Whilst they will repeat the same 5 or 6 stories every hour throughout the day and night. the most boring thing ever and used to drive me crazy at work

SSN is possibly one of the best things to come from the Murdoch 24/7 media revolution.

I'd go with that, be lost without it. It's just 'TV Heaven' for any sports nut, which I am.

| I always listen to talksport these days as I can't find a decent music station to listen to. I've never heard Adrian Durham mention RL, never mind Hull FC. The only one I have heard is Ronnie Irani who is a leyther and seems to lean towards Wigan.
I find it a bit annoying that they have a spot where they talk to a Canuk about US sport-football, baseball and basketball mainly, but they can't have a spot on a game played less then 200 miles from their studios.
How do i complain to them?

| There are things that can be done about this situation, though.
For some, they are getting into University and doing a Sports Journalism degree, with the intention of using that degree to infiltrate the national media somewhat and dedicate your professional life to modern, articulate and innovative coverage of RL (In a manner that doesn't just consist of a list of try scorers and half an utterance from a press conference).
For others, it may be a heartfelt email or boycott of certain media outlets, often with gentle persuasion to others in their circle of peers to do similar.
While ignorance of RL by the mass media doesn't cause death or anything, it does hurt us and is a bit insulting; do we not care as much what happens between Hull FC and Castleford as Football followers care what happens between Portsmouth and, say, Middlesborough? Of course we do; so why are we not granted the extensive coverage other sports are? I'd much rather read/see/hear about a high scoring, tense, rugby league grudge match than a 0-0 draw in the depths of winter somewhere on the south east coast. I'm sure most neutrals are the same.
If we all were to take some form of stand, perhaps, maybe, sometime down the line, we'd get somewhere. Only babysteps at first, granted, but anyone who has read To Kill A Mockingbird and followed the history of Blacks in America will understand that babysteps do sometimes lead to change.
Yes We Can!

He's gone more Victor Meldrew-ish since he's been there.
When he was doing test match cricket on the BBC, he was a lot more laid back. You have to be with Richie Benaud sitting next to you!!!

| It's a question of whether people could be ar**d, but we could swamp their message board with questions about the poor coverage of RL on TS.
