| 3rd is a defo possbility. Big thing is IF yo ulose to saints on Saturday, will it result in a run of losses as happens each year. If that occurs you could finish out the top 8.

| Quote ="The All New Chester Wire"That's a really stupid comment. No chance of finishing 3rd, 4th a target and 5th realistic when 3rd and 4th are a point apart and we are level on points with 5th.'"
Regardless of how many points are between each club, taking the opposition, venue and the fact that were in another competition into consideration then i believe we will finish 5th although we should be aiming for 4th.
I believe the game against Hull KR away will determine 4th and 5th, we win the game and finish 4th we lose the game and finish 5th, you can forget 3rd because we will lose to many games to finish that high.

| We're in another competition? Of those going for 3rd, so are Huddersfield.
You've already said whoever wins between us and HKR could finish 4th.
So, again I ask why is there "no chance" of finishing 3rd ?
We've won 8 out of our last 10 (I think). If we get 5 out of our last 8, we might struggle for 3rd, but not necessarily. If we win 6, I think we'd do it.

=redHuddersfield will be knocked out in the semi-final whereas we will be playing in the final.
=blueIt's just my opinion, although ive stated on another thread we will win 5 out of 8 i'm uncertain about Wigan away straight after the Semi-final so if we win 4 out of 8 we wont finish 3rd, Huddersfield away in the next couple of weeks will be no mugs either.

| I just think it's far too bold a statement to say "no chance" when we were miles away two months ago and now we could be 4th in two weeks time, level on points with 3rd. The momentum is with us.

| 10 points off third, will be a big ask at this stage, although 5th could still be a possibility as we are only 2 points behind Wigan. Makes you wonder what we could have achieved if we'd not sacrificed the league because of our cup run.

| 9th place, perhaps to be tenth after this weekend if Catalans beat Salford by a decent margin.
If only Sinfield had missed that kick on Saturday would have at least taken points difference out of the equation which could well be the difference between making the playoffs and missing out.
Can only say good things about Che Smith's tenure so far, but did no one else expect to be a bit higher in the league at this stage of the season even after our poor start?
Still a Wembley final appearance will more than make up for missing out on the playoffs if it happens.

Not really.
It's all about pre-season for me, until we have one, with a proper coach, we're playing catch up to teams that did have one, with a decent coach. A pre-season & some recruitment, I'll be very hopeful for 2010. I've seen the improvement in some the fellas he's got, Cooper & Harrison, Monaghan, Mathers and such.
I've seen more half time turnarounds, wins not playing well & player enthusiasm under Smith than I saw in probably 3/4 years, so I'm happy.
I can relate to what's going on, I feel part of the journey under Smith, I felt remote to Lowes, the product he was offering me, didn't look or feel that enjoyable.
