| Quote ="Dawson"Can't blame Lowes, would only imagine he has been following instructions all week.
TS would have strugled to pick a good team with Higham, Westwood and Morley out. Then to top that losing Briers.
We could have easily lost to Cas as we played poor, sounds like Bradford were just less poor than us'"
That's the key really. When I looked @ the interchange bench my thoughts were that Monas was to play interchange hooker, with Briers going off that plan was in the bin.
Fact is Clarke & Bridge with Monas should have been good enough to move us around the park which they weren't.

| Don't think you can lay all the blame with Lowes. Considering the players away and the Briers injury he was really on a hiding to nothing. If Wire had won convincingly then I'm sure the credit would have gone to TS.
That doesn't mean I'm a Lowes fan, far from it.

I SAW that as well, would have been an inspirational move in my opinion, shame briers got injured.

| Quote ="Latchford Wolvesfan"Do you see that as a good call seen as Bridge has been excellent at centre and pretty average at HB, Clarke has played 80 mins many times and doesn't need an interchange hooker although if you were going to play one then surely you play Thompson rather than disrupt the team further by chopping and changing positions.'"
Bridge is better at centre but:
1) With Higham out we needed someone else to cover that role
2) Bridge has looked reasonably good alongside Briers
3) The backs still lined up well even with Bridge at 6
Without Briers Bridge hasn't enough variation in his game to carry the 6 slot, but no-one could have predicted Brier's injury would make this necessary.

| given that we had 4 of our most influential players out once briers had gone off then i'm not sure if even TS could have pulled much more out of the bag yesterday
we should have had enough to beat bradford but i thought clarke had a bit of a stinker which didn't help as in my opinion him having a good game usually correlates with us winning
plus pack was a bit light when we had cooper and rauhihi should have spelled cooper/rauhihi with carvell and then wood with the other one...cooper is on his way up rauhihi on his way down, neither quite at full super league standard yet i don't think having them on together did us any favours

Lowes obviously isn't management material yet and if he was going to take charge on a long term basis i would kick up a fuss.
I don't see what he would have been allowed to change in such a short period. TS was back for the match, would have most proabably picked the same team and i don't think he would have been a spectator if there were things going on the pitch that he didn't agree with.
Perhaps this will serve to be a useful wake up call, shows our players can play well when on form, but there are major areas that need extra strength and depth and players which can be improved upon

I don't think he would and for me that's were the problem lies, we had one man injured and two on international duty but instead of making straight swaps like Johnson for Westwood, Thompson for Higham he played certain people in positions that there not suited to and changed the team structure to much.
I'm not placing 100% blame on Lowes but defiantly 70% and i think we were on a loser before the kick-off after seeing the team.

| Irrespective of blame, we weren't good enough & this should act as the wake up call we all needed, fans, coaches & players alike. We've stole a couple of wins playing poorly, it's caught up with us, move on.

I would agree with you completely if Briers got injured in the warm up, but it was a tough break losing him after 16 mins.
It may have been a good idea to play Thompson, but i could imagine the backlash if he wasn't up to scratch.
Is Mitchell going to get a game or will he be carrying water all season?

It was a very jimmy like performance, but we were due a loss. all those people that have been thinking of 10 game winning runs needed a reality check. hopefully that has come today and we can put that behind us and realise we're not invincible and we need to realise we've pulled things back well this season but there's a lot of hard work to do!
If we lose next week aswell, will that be down to Tony or the same players who played this week? Anyone is going to struggle losing 3 of their best players plus Briers.'"
Don't know how that works. You get the results you deserve.

| Everyone seems to be banging on about jimmy's a waste of time etc. But if you're all backing TS and saying in Smith we trust then shouldn't we trust tony's decision to leave jimmy in charge! if he wasn't up to the job he would have got rid well before now and I firmly believe TS will fight tooth and nail to have jimmy there next season. Also if you believe jimmy was in charge for this match then why do you hear tony talking at the post match press conference? Or did tony just take charge after the match?
