Last time I went to a big outdoor gig was Arctic Monkeys at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Not being into drugs, we got there probably too early (Amy Wino was on), so we were left to wander round drinking watered down lager out of those McDonalds-esque Coca Cola Cups and eating barbecued hotdogs and burgers. By the time we fancied getting back onto the pitch to see the band, all the cool kids were at the front, chanting and dancing and generally having a good time. We were at the back with the skinheads and hoodies and, being two foot tall as I am, I saw sweet Fanny Adams.

I did see Paul Cullen and Simon Moran blank out Shane Ward, though, which was a giggle.

Oasis??....Possibly the most over-rated band of recent times??

At least the Stone Roses, who Noel & Liam wish they were half as good as, had the decency to pack up once it became obvious their talents were limited....



If Oasis had done the right thing, and jacked it in after the Maine Road gigs, they would rightly have gone down in history as legends...instead, we are left with this turgid, has-been dinosaur trying desparately to re-create their glory years, and failing miserably.

Yep, plenty of violence, not to mention people taking leaks in pint pots and chucking them in the air, other people crapping in pint pots and chucking them in the air.

I've been to two Iron Maiden concerts and even their "hardcore" fans are far more sophisticated than Oasis fans will ever be.

Oasis? Yeah, don't rate them much. Only went because there was a spare ticket going and the fact that Richard Ashcroft was supporting them.

sounds like you went to the Lancs CC gig. This is a terrible venue for any gig as it is an open field and the sound does not stay in. Oasis are better in the small venues, i have seen them in the Royal Court at Liverpool about 4 months after that gig and they were immense. I hate to say it but if its Windy over the weekend the gigs may sound poor which is the reason i chose Wembley where in a stadium it holds the sound better.

Also get seating tickets and you dont get wee wee thrown on you too. I saw them at the Echo Arena a few months back and again they were excellent and no wee on my clothes too

Wembley will be my 11th time in 11 different venues and i have to say Venues with a roof are always better.

Seen them twice - Nynex Arena in 1995 and the second night at Maine Road in 1996. They were excellent then, rather leave it now

Never quite understood the British love of the outdoor 'gig'??...



2 simple reasons...

1. We live in probably the most unpredictable country, weather-wise, in the world??

2. The sound quality, actual view of the band or artist, and general facilities, are all total rubbish, and yet your most expensive gig of the year will always be the outdoor one....



The outdoor gig??...The music promoters dream, the gig-goer's worst nightmare.

I've been to see oasis more times than I can recall and never seen or had trouble.

I've even been Spain, France, holland and America and no trouble there either.

Must agree, iv been to my fair share of Oasis gigs, and iv seen no trouble. Its tends to get bonkers granted...ale and you know what flying everywhere, but iv never seen any violence!!!

Seen Oasis twice, at Maine Road and in Watford. The one thing I haven't seen is violence.
