maybe smith doesn't think he is the right type of player to go with against a strong and physical bradford.

Personally, I'd back him to go okay against Halley or Sheriffe. I could see either if those two causing King/Grix more problems with their pace than brute strength, so Penny would have more of a chance. Tadulala on the other side, PJ will be in a tussle for sure. (Or Hicks if Riley is fit.)

Maybe he would fair better with Duncan on his outside?

Why the question marks? Youngsters, Hyde has been doing really well but is usually a FB so can't see him getting in over Halley, who has been playing excellently.

What the hell does the kid have to do to get a game, if giving him a game is giving him a chance in the eyes of the fellas in charge then they're mad. Spose if we're not gonna bother utilising him then theres no point having him in the squad but he deserves better.

It's a good move not playing Penny. If they lined Tadulala up against him he would get ripped to shreds in 1 on 1 tackles. Sometimes you have to play the right team for the opposition and not what could be considered your best team.

I've been dropped a few times if a team has really big powerful wingers. Penny shouldn't be disappointed. Smith is also still trying out different teams to see which one he might stick with on a regular basis.

They wouldn't, he plays from the left. (Tadulala), if for some crazy reason they did switch him, we could just as easily do the same, so it's a null point really.

For me, right now, simple as, I can't see where our next try is coming from to be honest, but the one lad we have who at least gives you other options is Penny. Now, whether you utilise that properly during the 80 mins is a different point, but he has the capability to run down a kick or make a 60-80m break or whatever. If he doesn't play, we are back to being a side that only look a threat once in the Bradford 20m, which means our go forward will have to be super human, or we'll need to be on the right end of a weighted penalty count.

If we're taking the play the right team for the opposition point of view Penny might as well go to Widnes or something as he'll never get a game as it's never the right time by the looks of it.

Don't get me wrong I really like Chris Riley he tries his heart out but how many mistakes has he made and he still comes back a few weeks later, Penny has done nothing wrong and can't get a look in. God knows what it's gonna do to the lad.

i feel for penny, like jwp said he didnt put a foot wrong against cas, it seems he has to score to keep a place in the team.

For me, it should be Riley & Penny.

Riley had a good game last year up against Tadulala, it was a good battle. Get pace in the backline, give our halves & backs some much needed pace to work with, play to our strengths rather than worrying about theirs.

Its not common knowledge at all. No one that I've spoken to has heard anything about Briers apart from the fact he's carrying a slight injury picked up in training.

So please enlighten those of us that aren't in the know.
