Agreed.
(Asgardian - did you do the return journey from MK as well?)

| How anyone can look beyond Richards as the best kicker in SL is beyond me. On the game we can only defend what we are up against, and we were up against the most one-dimensional, unimaginative & uninspired attack I have seen for a very very long time. That said in the seasons gone, we would still have conceded a couple in that game, so pretty pleased at keeping the line intact.

| I was really impressed, not only in the defence but specifically the way we managed to defend there kicking game. close to the line a kicking game is very hard to defend and i think our line seemed impregnable!

| Fact - Richards (and Eastmond) has missed more kicks than Bridge this season.
Expansive teams score more out wide = kicks more difficult
Defensive effort was spot on yesterday, Salford were short on ideas though

| Our defence yesterday, and the desire shown right up until the last minute to keep another 'shut out' was the only positive from yesterday for me.

Tickle - 25/28 = 89% (missed 3)
Eastmond - 35/44 = 80% (missed 9)
Richards - 38/53 = 72% (missed 15)
Bridge - 19/28 = 68% (missed 9)
Bridge not in the same class as Tickle or Eastmond. In my view we need a high percentage kicker.

Agreed. If we play with those errors and mistakes against Hull we will get turned over irrespective of desire.

| as the thread title says another 2nd 40 nilling - thats the fourth at home this season , Quins, Crusaders, Bradford, and Salford, throw in the 2nd half nilling at Huddersfield and the full nilling of Quins at home plus only conceding a penalty in the whole game yesterday means - The wolves have kept the line intact for 7 halves of RL out of 18 This season
Wigan have nilled Saints, Leeds, ,Catalans, and Bradford in the first halves of games this season- and nilled Crusaders, Hull KR and Catalans in the 2nd - again 7 tryless 40 minute periods
any wonder theyre first and and 2nd in the table

Not saying we would have won but poor options in our Salford attact made your defence look good.
I thought the score line flattered you a little bit!'"
Spot on post RedGonad. Having the joint 2nd best defense in the league only conceeding 114 points so far this season, and without you scoring a try against us I can see where your coming from. As for poor options.... Salford whole game must have been affected by poor options because they were predictable & clueless in attack and looked like a team heading for the wooden spoon. The Crusaders & Harlequins played better then Salford at the HJ, and they were poor.
I don't need to any extra Carrots, but you can keep sucking on those Sour Grapes.

| When i do a percentage i do it the way my Teacher taught me at primary school and always remember it (not quite a mnemonic but works for me), slightly different to you TANCW
100 x the number before the 'of' the divide the after 'of' number by the 1st sum.
so
(100 x 22) / 27

Doesn't matter which way round you do it mate. You just use the 100 first, a lot of others do it at the end.
(100 x 22) / 27 is the same as (22 / 27) x 100.
You don't even really need the 100, just take the first two numbers after the decimal point as the percentage
i.e. 22 / 27 = 0.814 so therefore its 81.4%

| Good defensive attitude compared to previous years, we are much more willing to dig in and put the effort in to defend our line. Although it helped that Salford attacking was pretty 'stale', up against better teams and with us turning over that much ball, against a quality attacking side and we will come unstuck.
