That would be pretty awesome if we could do that. 2011 is Hicks last season and then he's hanging up his boots, so if we signed Joel and loaned him out for the season, it gives it time for the rush to settle down and for him to get used to English RL.
Then for the 2012 season we'll have a quality player ready to fill Hicks boots and as he'll only be 29, we'll have a good 3 maybe 4 years out of him provided he likes it here. |

That's true. Although it's a risk most clubs face when signing a new player, especially from overseas... They've no idea how they'd react here.
Although, I think Tony would have some wise words for him which would stop him causing any problems at whatever team he was loaned out to. They just have to keep their dogs away from him! |

A lot of NRL wingers are as good as Hicks. Easily replaced IMO. |

Have you seen him play much ? personally i think he`s overrated, he`s done well to get 2 starts for NSW but lets be realistic on that, NSW have been struggling for a long time especially in the backs, just look at some of the players in recent times that have been given a chance for the blues. Its similar with his caps at test level, you could put Wolfie out on the wing for Australia and he`ll score a few tries, well thats if he doesn`t knock on like he`s done for the last 2 years at wembley  |

It's happened before. Kevin Campion anyone, who never even came to play for us, citing the British climate, but then went and signed for NZ Warriors to play in their rainy season..... better offer anyone??

With the mass array of talent they have in Aus though especially in the backs, to get even remotely close to being picked for Australia is a huge achievement. Would he get in the England side ? of course he would, he'd walk into it.
How many England backs would be close to a start if they were Australian ? |
