| Every team has a bad day at the office. The Goons just had a very bad one yesterday.
Someone suggested on social media that there was a tummy bug in the Wigan team this week. Might explain things.

| I am not looking to get involved in an argument, but you're going to have to enlighten me, how does the expectation of taking the fall differ from the expectation of throwing the game? Either way I am sure 62-0 was not part of the planning, in fact I am fairly certain defeat wouldn't have been part of the planning.
I take your point that they had a 2 point cushion and other games to come with busted bodies but there is no guarantee that the players who were rested will be in much better condition next week, can they afford to take the fall again with Catalans, hull and perhaps saints putting together some great form and performances. You mentioned on another post that top 2 is massive, I agree and that makes every 2 points massive and I don't think 2 points lost away at Wakefield helps in the long term, their 2 point buffer is now gone over their nearest rivals, who are really hitting form.

| Exactly, excepting a fall at the hands of Wakefield will put Wigan with those missing out in a much stronger position v the teams that offer a threat to there top 2 aspirations. Relinquishing 2 points for technical 4 pointers in the coming fixtures.
Leeds won the treble last season by excepting they may fall by resting Sinfield and blooding Sutcliffe with one eye on 2016.
Many of the games without Sinfield they lost but because of their position of comfort it was all collateral damage in the objective of winning the treble.
What was helping Leeds out throughout that period was that all the major threats kept slipping up and we're unable to take the opportunity to close the gap sufficiently on Leeds so they were able to continue to rest Sinfield and blood Sutcliffe more often than they probably thought over that period.

| I feel much the same way about our game at Huddersfield on Friday. Huddersfield are not on our radar regarding the battle for the semi finals come the end of the season so we could 'rest' most, or even all the the first choice squad as a defeat at the John Smith Stadium would still leave us top and be less damaging than a defeat in Widnes and far less damaging than a defeat against wigan.
It won't happen, but I wouldn't be the least bit upset if Hill, Sims, Gidley, Currie, Hughes, Russell, Atkins and Clark all piled round to Sandows house on Friday night to watch Leeds lose yet again.

Leeds lost 6 games last year. Sinfield was only missing for 1 of those games. That was against Widnes.

| Half correct, get back to the trolling through to try to discredit me as you like to spend you time, you'll see he was sat on the bench and wasn't used or used much. They used an excuse Sutcliffe was playing on merit.
Anyone with even half a brain cell knows that isn't true.

He was on the bench & was not used? But he still managed to kick goals.
Which game was he on the bench & not used.... & Leeds lost.

But what would you think if we rested all of those players, lost to Huddersfield and then lost to Widnes and Wigan at full strength (minus Sandow)? it's possible as these are good teams we are talking about. Plus as bad as Huddersfield have been this season, especially defensively their attack has improved massively in recent games which makes them dangerous, as opposed to Leeds who look incapable of scoring 20 points in a game.
I'd rather have the 2 point cushion as insurance especially for the Wigan game, although I do feel we are well capable of winning all 3 and stretching the lead at the top. As fans we aren't party to information about exactly how fit players are and given Westwood was kicking on Friday we can be fairly certain that gidley, ratchford and westerman were carrying knocks/ niggles, can we be sure that 1 weeks rest will be enough to iron out these niggles anyway?

I accept the we could play the U19s on Friday resting the whole first team squad, and there's still no guarantee of getting positive results against Widnes or wigan. But to me too many players are starting to look a little jaded and/or carrying little niggles and I feel that a week off would do them the world of good.
Makes no difference, it's only my opinion and (fortunately) Tony Smith knows a hell of a lot more about Rugby League, the players and their injuries than any of us.

| That's true enough, I don't envy any coach having to manage a squad through a superleague season. Especially this year where there seems to have been a lot of injuries for most teams from the start.
I agree, we are looking a little jaded, against Wigan i had put that down to The effects of Easter and only having 2 on the bench for such a long part of the match. Hopefully a full week without playing will have been enough for a lot of the players to have recovered a bit more. It would be nice if gidley can resume kicking duties for the Widnes game. Maybe ratchford was nursing a dead leg so may be able to kick this week?

I agree with you and also CW8 and I understand that you aren't really arguing with each other as such. TS, the players and the fitness team know best and yes there needs to be squad management to try and ensure that we end up in the best condition for the 8's.
We aren't guaranteed any points so pre 8s try and take the two available whether it's against Hudd's, Widnes, or Wigan (preferably all) they all count the same IMO pre split get them on the board so apart from best condition your starting point points and position (impossible last season, a loss and game over) are worth keeping an eye on.

| You do need to learn to be less precious, just offering an honest opinion.
You're prepared to go at people but not take it back.
I've had dogs abuse on here in the past. Just let it flow over you.
Buith only pointed out you were wrong, his right to do that on here.
Blocking is another one, if people want to do that fair enough but never surround yourself by people who only reinforce your world view and back up your arguments on here.
Challenge and be challenged.

| Yed I give my opinion but my last post was not directed at bbw as i chose to igore his last post...
bbw has had an issue with me ever since he had criticism over your comp 2 years ago, I spoke out...he's had a sulk over it ever since.
That concerns me not, it's his life.
I make a post he takes it upon himself to spend his every waking minute trying to find any crack in my post he can widen. No issue from me. I won't scan over his. I've other things to do.
I love to talk Wire and rugby. If he gives it me and I can be bothered I'll give it him back, but I'm never first to throw a custard pie at him.
More often I just ignore. Ive offered an olive branch several times, he's never took it. Still no issue from me. If it helps I apologise for sticking my nose into your business bbw with your issue over the scoring system.
