I used to Love the Way Michael Schumacher stood on the winners podium showing great respect to the German National anthem maybe throwing a cheeky wink or passing a little smile, but as soon as the Italian Anthem came on for Ferrari he was giving it the Waving arms conducting the band and giving it the thumbs up.....

There's only one national anthem in the world I would show disrespect to - God Save The Queen.

I'm not going to disrespect it, but I have to turn the sound off when its on TV.

Only thing that annoyed me at Wembley was Wire fans singing GSTQ louder than any of our actual songs.

GSTQ is not the national anthem of England anyway is it? England doesn't have one and neither do Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. GSTQ is collectively the national anthem of the United Kingdom.

Scotland and Wales both use inspirational national songs that get them pumping though, whereas England continue to use the song that divides opinion to put it mildly. The England Commonwealth Games team use Land of Hope and Glory as it seperates then from the Great Britain team they represent at other tournaments where GSTQ is used.

Rugby League should follow athletics lead on that one. GSTQ for Great Britain games if any are played in future (much as I dislike it, I can't dispute that it is the national anthem then) and LOHAG for England games.

Good to see my grandfather giving his life for King and country in WW2 and the boys over in Afghanistan doing likewise are being supported by people who hate their own country on this site. Why not tear down the flag and urinate on it or maybe go and deface the cenotaph at Bridge Foot as well?

I'm proud to be from this country (although it's not especially better than any other one) but the monarchy and the national anthem mean nothing to me.
