The warrington accent is very unusual, few years ago i was in newcastle and they told me i had a weird accent '' like i was from coronation street ''. My accent is weird goes from posh to my native orford twang in one sentence if i'm not carefull. I don't really like the chavvy twang though that sometimes comes out of some warringtonians mouths though it does depend which part of warrington you are from.

I'm the opposite. Obviously tell people I'm from Warrington, but having travelled a lot if people from other countries they where abouts it is, then I would always say near Liverpool. I find that it always generates a more positive reaction as well.

Always say i'm from Warrington, if people don't know it i say Manchester.



What gives me away with my accent is the way i say "where,were,wear, stair/stare, their/there"

Incidentally when my brother got a job in Southampton and told some woman where he was from she said

Whenever I've been home for the weekend my North East friends can always tell where I'vre been without asking. They always say, 'You've got your Coronation St accent back again.'

Warrington is a unique place and it's always good to come home. In the words of the Longford's famous song, 'I'm a Warrington man, I am what I am, everyone knows I'm a Warrington man.'
