No, it is my opinion as an individual who has made the choice not to have it.

I'm probably in the minority who wants to get it to be honest. I've used up my annual leave for this year, couple of weeks 'on't club', awesome.

This swine flu hasn't been as devastating as first made out, so why the need for a vaccine.

Conspiracy theorists say it's to weaken our immune systems for when the great cull begins. One american conspiracy theorist spoke to either the government or some health agency (recorded and uploaded to youtube) and they made it clear that you wouldn't have a choice in having the vaccine has it will be mandatory.

I'm not touching a vaccine for a virus that has been around for 12 months.....

who have they tested it on what are the side effects what are the long term effects...

not a chance....
I have asthma and i'd rather gag and wheeze for a week than have that crap injected in me....
I refuse the offer of a winter flu jab every year and will continue to do so...


PS. I still dont know anyone who has had swine flu......nor do i know anyone who knows anyone who has had it......

In response to the flying biscuits comments i would also say I dont know anyone who has had it. The major concern for me is that most people who 'think' they have had it have probably only just had a mild to severe cold. The governments guidelines on diagnoses is about as vague as anything I have seen.

Apparantly you have swine flu if you are running a temp of 38 degrees +, have a runny/stuffy nose and a cough or sore throat. Sounds like a common cold to me.

I wonder how many idiots have had tamiflu for absolutely no reason and apparantly once you have had one course of tamiflu then thats all you are getting.

and its just a mere co-incidence that you slipped in being a health care worker to appear an authority on the subject.

No flu vaccine has long term testing as they are all different each year and can not be tested.

The most deadly flu ever was the Spanish flu killed around 40 million it killed healthy people rather than the old or weak ,basically their own strong immune system caused the problem as it over reacted .

some of the swine flu vaccine that is being passed out at the moment contains adjuvents such as mf 59 , squalene etc to boost your immune system or irritate it , it means less of the vaccines anti body's are needed. .
The swine flu vaccine currently being handed out in Germany to the military and politicians etc. does not contain adjuvents , however the one for the general public does .
So if the Spanish flu from 1918 reapers those with over active immune systems are more at risk not the weaker ones .

A few points.

A very high percentage of the death in 1918 were from pneumonia not from ome kind of autoimmune response.

The vaccine is not live and does not stimulate the same immune systems as thos responsible for that type of over reaction.

Adjuvants have been used in loads of vaccines perfectly safely for decades.

I really am beginning to form the opinion there is an awful amount of hype being spoken both by media and government about this 'pandemic'.

Why this should be I am not really sure but I also have not yet met anyone who has been ill with swine flu.

Would think the pharmaceutical companies are making a good profit though.

I responded in the way I did because you responded with a series of half facts and some none facts to link adjuvants to boosted immune system then a boosted immune system to the flu in 1918. In short its bobbins.

Your right that the flu in 1918 killed healthy people rather than the vunerable but most deaths were from pneumonia not flu and were not from some over stimulated immune response. So your link between the 1918 flu and over stimulated immune systems is a poor one.

Now onto the adjuvants and the live thing versus non live vaccines. The over response of the immune system is due to cytokine storm. The current vaccine stimulates different parts of the immune system than those associated with this response. If these nasty adjuvants are so bad how have they been used for tens of years perfectly fine?

Its very much a case of people with a little (make that almost no) knowledge scaremongering to others who themselves know no better. It just cascades from there.

Not really the place to discuses this but there is much debate about the immune system response problems of the Spanish flu and the safety of adjuvents and vaccines as a hole , gillian bray sydrome as an example .

The same as the debate about the preservatives used such as ones which contain mercury in some cases ,and its links to autism and formation of ionic mercury in the brain . im not trying to scaremonger as you put it or half truths, but debate,.

I probably just worded my post wrong. Anyhows onto your points you are right that you need to consider the safety of these things but it will be doone pretty well. Vaccines get a rough time because people are scared of them because they dont understand them fully. People attribute a much higher risk to using them for some reason yet the same people will happily do things in their life that are far far more risky without battin g an eyelid.
