He was alright at picking it up after he'd dropped it. Then again he did get plenty of practice.

again crusaders fans think he will do brilliantly others not so. i think he might struggle as the pace of the game is alot quicker but it a good move to promote rugby league

It's a win-win for the game of RL.

If he fails, he's a RU legend who can't hack it in RL.
If he succeeds - and I hope he does - he'll be a massive draw for the Crusaders and a real Welsh icon for the fans to latch onto.

Anything that gets people talking about RL is a great thing.

Will be a good move for both Thomas & Crusaders. I think he'll adapt a lot more easily than many seem to think - he'll be a more than useful centre or winger who will score and finish a fair few moves. He hasn't the skill base of a Jonathon Davies, nor the technical issues in the pack of a Scott Quinnell so in reality hasn't that much to learn - get ball, run, score try; shimples.

RU's biggest problem these days is RU. Apart from the fact that the English game is so boring & predictable and so far behind the Super14 or NZ provincial competitions, they have the likes of Danny Cipriani off to Australia & James Haskell not able to play for the club who pay his wages because Rob Andrew is so far up his own backside he can't realise there will only ever be one winner in club v country these days & it will not be him...

Of course there is, at 35 if he plays in the three-quarters in SL he will have rings run round him. Where do you see him playing?

Gareth Thomas deserves to be applauded for having the courage to come out while still playing professional sport, not pilloried by a section of small-minded inbreds who are scared his homosexuality may be catching. He won't be the only gay professional team sportsman in the country, law of averages state there will be more than a couple of Superleague players who are also gay - I wonder how the bigots will react when some of their established RL heroes come out?

It's still socially acceptable to be homophobic. You can't say anything racist any more or you get dirty looks, but if you make an openly anti-gay remark you get a few giggles and nudges.

I suppose most religious values teach us that God is homophobic, its a sin, AIDS was sent as a punishment for their sinful ways. It's difficult to prosecute God or Allah under hate crime laws.
