Totally agree with bit in bold, like i've said before rather have Sean Tully. But Tomkins best at average, hes a fantastic player.

I wish more people would admitt it and see its in Englands best interest to play Tomkins rather than Myler rather than letting hatred of Wigan get in the way.
Tomkins running style and the way he plays could be the way to unlock the aussie defence.

I didn't say that i just said he's a fantastic playe, likewise Myler when on form. It's an interesting debate as you also have to look at Eastmond and what he can bring to the squad.

Better halves than Tomkins have struggled to open Australia.

Just like your hatred of Myler,Smith and Warrington.
Tomkins only has one trick up his sleeve, his step and dash.Apart from that he has nothing else.

Why would they be laughing at two quality players?
If anyones inclusion in the England squad is likely to amuse the Australians it's Paul Sykes and Ben Westwood.

If you seriously believe that then I suggest you get a copy of a few of our games this year where Sam has been instrumental in alot of our tries, not just with his big step but his passing abilities to and short kicking game. 1 big try that stands out for me was the try against Leeds that Hansen scored after Sam had created with a beautiful flick pass inside to Carmont which opened up enough space in the Leeds defence for Hansen to pounce on a lose ball after Tommy kicked. He also had a big part to play in both games up at Hull KR just off the top off my head aswell as many other games, Sam has more to his game than just the big step and anyone who thinks that's all he has I suggest you watch him more carefully next year rather than hating him just because he's a Wigan player.

Well Liam he does just come up with bias Wigan statements all the time.At least you are balanced and not living in the past like some of the Wigan fans. The sheer arrogance of some of them is something to behold. I agree Tomkins should have been in. I question his tempermant thought in the big matches. How easy was it for King and Clarke to wind him up in the Semi.

I tend to agree, I think Wigan fans need to realise that this is still Sams first proper season and is still learning. He's already had many high's and will continue to do so, as great as it would be for him to play the experience he'll get being surrounded by experienced England players will no doubt do him the world of good. Sam will probably feel a little hard done by after his performances for Wigan and his performance against Wales which will only encourage Sam to perform better when he does get his chance, which I don't think is to far away. I'd be more shocked if we don't see him at some point in the series.

The only reason i would like to Tomkins to play for England against both Australia and NZ would be to see the likes of Civoneceva, Hannant, Watmough, Gallen and Moi Moi have a crack at smashing him all over the ground.
On Boots and All a couple of months ago a Wigan fan emailed in asking why the rugby league were allowing late shots on Tomkins. I sent a reply in stating that the Rl would allow the cheap shots to continue until one of them knocked off the chip Tomlins has on his shoulder. Signed it S Cummins as well but suprisingly it wasnt read out.

Why ??
I have posted an opinion I have of a Wigan player, formed by watching probably half the games he played last year thanks to SKY Sports and the BBC. I have posted it on a Warrington board which surprisingly seems to be frequented by a number of Wigan fans.
I do not believe that Tomkins is good enough to play at 6 ( or 7 ) for England. Neither for that matter at this moment is Myler.
The ideal 6,7,13 combo would have been the Leeds trio who have played together all season of McGuire, Burrows and Sinfield.
Therefore as I believe he is not good enough for England, the only reason I would like to see him playing is so that he gets smashed all over the pitch.
Anyway if you want it back on topic. The loss of O Loughlin is a shame for the squad. He was never going to get picked at 13 due to the lack of goalkicker in the team ( Sinfield had to be picked ) and I really was hoping he would not get picked at centre as that really good have been a disaster coming up against Inglis.
But i have never really seen o Loughlin have a bad gane for GB or England so it is a loss to the squad.

I presume you think Myler is good enough though?
Rumour is that Ken Dodd has signed for Wire, and that he will go straight into the England team for next year.

The fact that you want Tomkins to play for YOUR country for the only reason of opposition players "smashing him all over the ground", not for the best interests of the team, is very embarrassing IMO. How is that an opinion of a player in any way, shape or form?

You misunderstand .... I do not want him to play for my country as I do not believe him to be good enough at present. He may very well be next season if he matures as both a person and a player on the pitch but at present he is not.
