I think Roberts will see out his contract. He's improving, as is the team. If we get to a final (or two) why would he move back? His family will be settling now no doubt...he isn't a flakey, Sandow-like character.

You'd think that the better we and him play the more at home he will feel. Playing a big part in a good team is what most players dream about.

We had enough long term rehabilitationistas under Mr Smith to last a lifetime. Not good to sign players with injury problems.

I don't think long term injuries & injury prone players were as well received when their name was Gary Wheeler or the Aussie prop who came over injured in 2016 & played about 20 minutes all season. Mitchell Dodds i think his name was.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Dodds, yes he missed a few opening games, but getting a double leg break vs Catalan was plain unlucky.

Yes that's twice his name has come up for injuries. There was nowt wrong with him till he double snapped the leg.

Unfortunately for Dodds he just seems like one of those players that suffer with injuries.

Had some pretty serious knee issues before he signed for us, joined us with a wrist problem, broke his leg and still hasn't featured for Brisbane because of knee issues.

I'd be happy if we didn't sign Eastmond, saved some money and signed Josh Drinkwater. Done a great job at every club he's been at and is in amazing form at Catalans and won't cost us a marquee spot or wage.

There’s not many half backs available but Drinkwater, Hastings and even Mellor are more than capable of starting in the Warrignton line-up. What do we do if the Eastmond gamble doesn’t pay off? Wait two years til we can use he marquee spot again?

Possibly, but more likely a NRL signing.

But such is the current lack of star quality British halves Mellor could quite easily be part of a grand-final winning team... think about Gale five years ago - who would have guessed he’d be a MOS winner? Also let’s remember Matty Smith won the GF (a couple of times?)...

Not saying Mellor is the answer but he’s way further up the list than a union centre that can’t get a game in his own sport and is holding out for a massive wage.
