I'll admit Hughes has had a terrible season. I wouldn't be looking to ship him out just yet as last season he was a vital cog and we looked at our worst when he didn't play.

It all comes down to what's going on behind the scenes. he's clearly troubled and its effecting his game. Where's Crosby anyway?

Well make him compete for his place at least instead of an ever present. He's been terrible this season, it's got to the point where he cannot play the ball without spilling it.

I don't think it is helping Hughes's case to be playing at centre instead of in the forwards. I was only thinking during the warm up on Saturday that our players seemed chubbier than Wigan's leaner ,more ready for a game team & if Pomeroy is already injured i can't really say i'm surprised.

There's a photography workshop at the H&J on Friday...maybe they'll ask to see their passing with a potential 18th man spot on the line.

Seems to be quite a bit left in the kitty for this year if we can bring in Pomeroy and Hiku. Perhaps the bonuses for winning Challenge Cup and grand final will be unspent this year..

Today's league express, as the announcement in, also mentions the number of players off contract. Goes on to say Evans as signed for Leigh next season and Sims to Toronto to be finalized.

It all smacks of desperation to me. Mid season signings are needed due to poor preseason recruitment in key positions, just like last season.

Hopefully they'll give us something to smile about.

Hiku is NOT a fullback and has played 80-90% of his career on the wing, filled in sometimes at centre and a few times in the halves.
He'll be on the wing, and if we get Naiqama (my ideal signing) he will be at centre with Hiku on his wing which will be an awesomely fast and skillful right edge for us.
Ratchford will more than likely stay at fullback, I think Savelio will move on as we've only offered him a 1 year deal and he wants longer.
If the Mosoe rumour comes off then that's a big impact player for us if he stays fit, and I keep hearing the Alex Gerrard Rumour from Widnes floating about which would give us a really good solid forward aswell.
Hiku is a very good start though so hopefully more announcements are to follow soon

I agree mate, Savelio is clearly a very good player and at only 21-22 years old I think it's stupid we don't give him a 2 year contract. He's not even fully developed in size or skill and he causes a shed load of problems for the opposition. Get him signed up, if his Dad is still his manager then that will be a problem as his Dad is the reason he left in the first place as he was demanding a hell of a lot more money then any kid at the time was on, and generally being a dick

According to league express or the other paper cant remember which one but it seems Wardle is going to Castleford.

Yes i saw that, there was another report I saw that suggested we were on of two clubs to be in the running, he favoured Castleford, but we had come in with a more lucrative offer - don't we always?!?

Wardle for me would be a good signing at centre if we got him, but never seen him at second row so couldn't really comment how effective he is there? I think once currie comes back it will add fire power to the squad, and I would drop Hughes for savelio for awhile.
I really like hughes but like most of our players this year they are just not performing, but when savelio plays he puts she loads of effort in which is what we need at the moment.
