| After watching the match again I've gone for Myler.
Stood up to be counted in defence, supported the ball carriers well and poached a try but best of all his long passing as part of the "Monaghan to Myler to Briers to Hodgson to [[i:rr8glu1ninsert name of try-scorer here[/i" link-up play was top drawer.
No doubt he'll still be considered "over-rated/not rated" by opposition fans but it's time that our own support at least realise that there is so much more to his game than just being a support player.
He currently sits as joint top try scorer in Super league and in the top ten for assists and for clean breaks. At the tender age of 20 if he conmtinues like this he's a shoe-in for young player of the year.
Well done Richie - you'll get your Challenge Cup medal this year.

Agree entirely.
Almost difficult to articulate accurately how much he has improved. He's everywhere at the minute and has really got himself involved. I've been really impressed with him this season.
Also, as an aside - I think if there was any doubts about him as an individual, they've now gone. He's dealt with a lot in the last year. Being left out of the CC Final team, then Smith leaving him out and being fairly public about the reasons why he didn't merit being in the side. Then the off season - lots of rumours about him going here there & everywhere which must have been destabilising to a young lad, well, he's just answered all of this in the best possible way, he's worked hard, looked himself in the mirror and made the required improvements to his game which must have happened on the back of hard work and you can't help but be delighted for him. It could have gone two ways I guess and it's full credit too him for which way he chose to deal with the disappointment.

| An awesome team performance, but Hodgson gets it for me. potent in attack and his incredible goal kicking not only keeps taking us away from teams, but must be soul destroying for the opposition.

| I am going for Blythe based on the fact that he seems to be improving all aspects of his game on a week by week basis. He is also utterly fearless in attack and defence.

| There are some games where to pick a man of the match is wrong ! This game being one of them IMO the TEAM were awesome and to pick an individual out of the 17 is wrong I would give it too them all as they were MEN OF THE MATCH TOGETHER ! same as at Wembley last yr IMO !

| I went for Myler, thought he was great in defence and finally showed himself as an extra dimension to the attack, something he has rarely showed yet. He was tackling well above his weight. His try sealed it, and he showed a lot of pace! I remember him having a good game against Wigan at the Dodging Wembley stadium last year, and he showed his class again this year.

| Anyone else think Smith sent Wood and Solomona out on the pitch with a strict 'no offloading' rule?

Thankfully yes, the last thing we needed was the ball being thrown around everywherem we just needed Sol and Woody to run it in strongly.

Without a doubt Mark. Whole team was obviously under instructions not to look for the off-loads. Win the ground and get quick play the balls was the order of the day and if you don't do what Smith says you don't play next week.

couldnt agree more.... Myler has been brilliant with ball and without... he has really upped his game. The speed and accuracy of his pass is fantastic.

Yes that was another point I wanted to mention. It is these little improvements to the core skills that are having a massive effect overall.

| Not a clue how you go about picking any one from 17 these days. Our team ethic is outstanding and probably only matched by Wigan at present (last evening excepted !)
Certain positions will always stand out in a perfect team performance, but for the past 6 weeks all 17 have carried out their individual roles to near perfection.
The guy who deserves the credit is Lord Tony of the Shire and his support staff - his building of this current squad of 25 players is to be applauded. He brings in Mathers - dodgy call that one Tone - 2 CC wins later !!!!! Then decides we need a ball playing kicking machine - bit old ain't he Tone ? 7 games in = genius decision !!
MOM = Lord Smith
