| There really isn't such a thing as 'injury prone'. Some players are damn unlucky though.
Warrington have had very good value out of players with a reputation for being the physios best friend.

| I would like to know how ppl come to the conclusion.dodds is injury prone!!
We got tom.lineham to score trys which he has done. But the effort.other areas has fallen well short. Tho its way too early to write him off and some of the reactions on.here are laughable as bad a signing as roy!! I recall similar grumbles when we signed henry faafili. He too was not fast or agile enough for a winger and was a terrible signing, king was garbage and should have been sent back!! Paul rauhihi was not good enough because he did not waltz through defences and we should have terminated his contract after half a season.
I feel for our new signings as if they don't hit the ground running and set sl alight they are garbage when really they don't live up to many fans high expectations. Or fit their idea of what a winger prop whatever should be.
The money paid is negligible compared to football's speculation buys of 10-30m on a prospect.

| Is this someone who is NOT prone to injury???? Taken from Wikipedia!
2013
Dodds played 11 games for the Broncos and he scored his First NRL try against the Raiders in Round 13, But in round 21 against the Knights Mitchell suffered an ACL injury which ended his season but not only his season the following season as well and didn't play for 16 Months.
2014
Mitchell didn't play any first grade in 2014 due to an ACL injury suffered the previous season in a game against the Knights.
2015
In Round 8 there were fears Mitchell had done his ACL for the third time in less than 2 years but luckily it was medial ligament damage. Doods Returned in Round 15 for the Broncos in the win over the Storm and has played since due to teammate Josh McGuire suffering a season ending Achillies injury the following week against the Knights.

| If you think someone getting a broken leg is due to them being injury prone, you are an idiot and shouldn't be allowed near electrical equipment.
Also, in your list above two of them refer to the same injury.

I agree that in comparison to football the money paid is negligible. However, shirley the correct comparative is what fees are paid across the board for other rugby league players, that's the market we are in?
I don't have the exact figures at my fingertips, but, I given what is banded about, it doesn't stack up to what any club should pay for 'only a prospect'. Rightly or wrongly the level of fee will affect expectations

I see your angle j_b.
Let me use your metaphor to see if your opinion is lightened.
If Dobbs was indeed an electrical appliance, and some of which are faulty, but it this case let's assume the item isn't like you said.
Now providing the item is used correctly then it is very likely to continue working, without maintenance, beyond it's recommend working life.
However if the item is misused during its lifespan, then it's highly probable it would break, either it perminant or repairable.
Misused is what could validate the label of injury prone to Dobbs. It's not about how strong his muscles and bones are but rather the technique and/or positions he puts them in.
Technique is what makes certain players put more head tackles in than others. What make players miss tackles more than others and likewise what puts themselves in a position to be more likey to come off with an injury than another.

I think his point is that he has only had 3 injuries (ACL, Knee ligament & Wrist injury) he therefore shouldn't really be labelled as injury prone. He was only out so long with the ACL due to a post Op infection - similar to Bailey only much worse. I would say wherever he is next year, he needs a good run in terms of number off appearances, or he may struggle in future.
Oh and its Dodds, not Dobbs

Agree entirely, he has been incredibly unlucky to pick up the leg break the way he did.

| Injury prone for me is a reoccurring injury.
I'm confident that there will be a correlative pattern between injuries lo knees ankle n legs to the increase of 3/4th man in is focused on creating as much impact on the legs as possible generally on a stationary player.
There's a lot of time for tom to turn things around his form.or lack of it is probably more a mental issue rather than he is not physically capable off meeting the standard. Relocating and a new job would be tough on anyone. I just get the feeling he's struggling a little with the move Clarke had a similar first season not as good as expected and not as good as was capable of. Time to settle in and adjust has done him.the world of good!! I'd hope that we get the same from tom

| Dodds' recovery from a broken leg so far is nothing short of astonishing. immediately after his injury Tony smith hoped he would be available for the back end of the play offs should we still be involved. It has since been stated he could be back in June.
Meanwhile Laithwaite looks nowhere near being ready and you would seriously think his career is very much in the balance his record is something like
2013 broken ankle
2014 broken foot
2015 spiral fibula fracture and 12 months out so far.....

Agreed. But there aren't plenty of jobs where you are judged based on your performance over 80 minutes rather than the whole week.

| I'll be first to admit his recent performances have been far from great but same can be said forth team on the whole recently. Im sure the trys will come again once we get bodies back and we as a team will be leaking less.
We've signed him on a long term contract with the future in mind also, his weaknesses are not exactly a revelation and I am sure are being addressed and over the course of his contracts will prove a good signing.

Surely, 80 minutes is a players whole week, but on the other hand, we are not privy to what players are carrying what injuries.

| I think for the finest example of injury prone we need look no further than Gary Wheeler, injury prone is surely where a player is injured more than he is playing and that the injuries are one after the other and not necessarily the same injury - Gary Wheeler.
Dodds has had a few injuries like most but they just seem to be big ones, maybe technique and maybe bad luck, therefore unluckily for him there is the tag of injury prone due the time he is unavailable. Just differing opinions.

How true all this is I don't know, but, I think that overall it is a good thing.
Yes it might be a bit light hearted, but, at least he's admitted that he wasn't pulling his weight either at Hull or at the start of his career here. He's accepted that he needed a kick up the backside, (probably why he had a rolled up sleeping bag down the back of his shorts), realised he's made mistakes and is trying to sort himself out and become better.

Hmm. Not so sure, personally. Think it shows a frightening lack of self-awareness. This is the same bloke who admitted on the Locker Room video that he has a mannequin of a woman in his bedroom and his weakness in a game is his inability to turn quickly. Hope the opposition teams all caught that. Strikes me his mouth is moving but his brain isn't engaging. Yet to see any sign he's trying to sort himself out - he only got back in after Penny pulled his hammy, didn't he?

| He didn't do a bad effort for self awareness with the quickly taken tap against Hull that produced a try. I suppose it could also be argued that there are other not so slender wingers in the game who may make it harder for defences to bundle them into touch.
If there are issues that affect his game though, surely that highlights a problem over us signing him in the first place.

Ultimately, that is indeed the issue. There were plenty of klaxons going off when it was announced we were signing him, and they don't appear to have quietened down in the subsequent months. That article is tongue in cheek, but there's a lot of truth bubbling away beneath the surface, I suspect.
