Game one. 1st Plays 4th as Wigan and Leeds did last season. Winner gets a week off loser plays at home the following week.

Game two. 2nd plays 3rd. as per Saints and Us last season, winner and loser same as above.

game three. 5th plays at home to 8th. Winner plays away to loser of 1st & 4th
Game four. 6th plays 7th at home. Winner plays away to loser of 2nd & 3rd

Then the highest ranked team from G1 & G2 plays at home with Club Call.
Winner of Game two plays at home to the non selected team.

The two teams to win from these rounds are at O/T for the Grand Final.

Now, try to explain that orally to somebody who has never watched RL.

Plenty of people who do watch RL don't understand the play-off system

Wigan and Wire are nailed on for top 2 and now it just depends in which order.

We have 4 home games left against Wakey, Salford, Crusaders and Bradford so to be sat where we are is very pleasing.

What an end to the season we should see! There are going to be some very special games between us and you guys in the next few months.

I think second will do nicely so it will give us the inspiration to raise our game in the playoffs.
I initially didn't think we could win the grand final as essentially we have come from nowhere as regards to the history of the playoffs.

I'm getting a bit more excited as each week passes, thinking "surely we can't win it.......can we?"

But we are in a very good position to have a jolly good stab at it.

One thing is certain if the Grand final is anything other than Wires v Wigan then it won't be between the best two sides in the competition.

2nd could mean Hudds at home instead of St Helens in the first round..I'd take that.

I would prefer to play Hudds than saints... so second might be the best place to finish.

I still think Catalan might sneak into 4th. In which case 1st may be a poisoned chalice as we've both struggled against Catalan thus far this season.

i am sure i heard somewhere that sky have better viewing figures for their saturday games rather than those on friday nights? either way i am not bothered if it's moved (birthday friday) as long as we get the two points,it's sure to be a cracker anyway.

To be fair, neiter of the Top 2 are going to have an easy game.

I would not want to play any of Saints, Hudds or Catalan. But thats why the play-offs are so good. Will be some amazing games played in a very short space of time. Will see how we do in the last few games of the season. Along with any injuries we pick up on the way. I am looking for this Wire team to be at least getting to OT though.

Would love the double, but that may just be a bridge to far!! Although belive me, i hope we win it all!!!!

Well from Wigans POV we've been pretty well beaten by Catalan twice, and hammered Hudds twice (the first one counts as a hammering with all the injuries we had

I can see the Play-offs going like this,

Wire v Saints
Wire v Saints
Wire v Wigan

could be interesting!! Would be the cherry on top to beat saints 4 times in a season, then take the trophy off Wigan at OT!!!

Ironically, the only team in the top 5 I'd be confident against is Wigan?! Hudds I think with Brough have the beating of us due to the size of their pack and kicking game, Catalans with Dureau for exactly the same reason as Hudds, and Saints... Well they're just Saints!

I don't think anyone will beat us in a knock-out game this season. There, said it.

You might be struggling with that Yed. Historically Sky get a far bigger audience on a Friday night and moving this to a Saturday will only interfere with their day long wendyball coverage. I'd be really surprised if its anything but a Friday game.

The table shouldn't change much from now to the end with all teams being capable of loosing no more than one match each. There's a couple of variables, the biggest being Hudds v Saints with the winner being 3rd. Our points difference means we can loose against both cats & Wigan & still finish 2nd.

Yes cats are the dark horses but Saints are the ones who look favourite to win all their remaining games.

As has been said the most likely route to Old Trafford would mean having to beat Saints twice in the playoffs.

I don't want us to win at OT............only cos in Tony Smith's eyes it will be "Job Done" and he will then move onto another Club for new challenges
