Nobody who knows anything about the club ever thought they had forced him out.

There were plenty of people slinging mud around at the time though... and some of them were warrington fans on this forum.

i was one of those who stuck up for Joel and said he should be based on how well he plays but it looks like his habits have spread round the club

The more I hear from Joel the more I like him.
I think he will do really well at and for Warrington.
Perhaps we have found an ideal replacement for Chris.

I had a conversation with a vice president about Monaghan and he was utterly dissapointed in a) the signing of Monaghan and b) the forcing out of Chris Hicks.

he then wittered on about how much money 'must' have been offered to Hicks to get him to rethink his retirement.
with no actual knowledge but pure rumour he was banding around figures of twice his salary to pay him off and some Shush money as well......

then he wasnt remotely interested in the Rugby Skills of Monaghan but went on and on about the embarrassment he could bring to the club....

It was quite a bizzare and unexpected rant.

Anyone with a few bob can be a VP. Doesn't mean they know anything or certainly not everything about the club.
