I was rather hoping we would stop peeing our money up the wall on imports and start to develop British talent.

Isn`t this what the likes of John Bastian and our youth set-up are already doing ?

With the signing of around 8 decent youth prospects fairly recently i would say that is what we are trying to do in developing our own british talent by putting into place a good youth set up which we have lacked for a good few years, the likes of Michael Shenton, Lee Smith, Joe Westerman and Sam Burgess to name a few can be classed as regular SL established players now and that will be our aim to produce a few british players of that sort of ability.

Its something that is going to take time so until then we won`t have much choice to bring in a few imports as their isn`t a lot of quality british talent around to spread between 14 clubs.

I point your attention to the title of this thread plus discussions within the thread talking about which import was arriving next.

And i point your attention to your last post which diverted the subject away from Sonny Bill Williams and onto developing british talent hence what i quoted you on.

Why do people assume that if you direct money from importing players then you will automatically start to generate great youth players?

We are working on the principle that cherry picking Leeds' model and it's operators, we will hopefully reap the same rewards.
