| How come none of the commentators mention how woeful Jake Connor is, especially in defence. A good defensive fullback would have stopped 2 or three of our tries. Some of his attempts at tackles were embarrassing. Yet they go on like he is some kind of god. It was only a month ago that commentators (jiffy) were slating Dufty for not taking a high ball. Dufty is 10 times the player Connor is.
Anyway, great performance. I had my doubts before the match that we may slip up. Definitely a lot of ruthlessness in this team which is great to see.

| Really, really happy with that and how the season is going. Don't think we could in our wildest dreams wish for much more; exciting winning rugby with players putting the graft in and playing for each other.
A big mention to Gleeson for our attacking structure which is so good with so many moves and options.
Going to be tough against Wigan who'll be favourites, but we've got more than a descent chance imo.

Re Bolton ...
I feel your pain, the 104 minutes of football ruined a perfectly good day out yesterday. Absolutely pathetic, spineless performance from start to finish.
Not wholly their fault (although quite close) but the manager and captain need to be gone long before the next season starts. Their style of walking football is mind-numbingly painful to watch!

Fully agree my friend, San toss and Evatt should be gone - total bottle jobs!

| So.. We should send the kids to France (for the third cats fixture this year) and same against Wigan, no need to show our hand of risk any bans or suspensions.

Vaughan, Duffty and Williams should be wrapped up in cotton wool until the final!

| There’s a lot to like about this team. Not the most exhilarating with the ball, but everyone knows their jobs and everyone gets theirs done. Ben Currie with a shift and a half in that heat, Philbin worked hard and fought for everything. Danny Walker is absolutely superb and Toby King and Matty Ashton are turning into a real handful of a combo.

| Interesting fixture that one the week before the final. You won’t rest many/any in France but our game could see two vastly different teams facing off. I’m not sure Burgess seems the sort to rest too many mind and we didn’t rest many the week before the 2022 final, so we’ll have to wait and see. The fact it’s against each other could force both coaches to hold a bit back.

| To Matt Wire....(Unable to quote your post) :-
Just read that Wire are travelling to France tomorrow and training there until we play Catalan.
Looks like we are taking that fixture seriously.
The Wigan game prior to the Cup Final could be a bit of a farce though.

Like that, I would rather we have a good go at Catalan and rest against Wigan.

| All class are Hudds*, your coach admitted we were the far better side today, total fair play to him. Soft spot for you lot since the "well done wire" banner in 2011.
*Except Jake Connor, can't say he'd have won over any Hudds skeptics today! Absolute pillock.

I like that. We owe Les Dracs one after the last two. Then heads down until 8th June. Bubble wrap and cotton wool on the usual suspects!

You got to be joking right? Clear as day on TV and full marks to Powell for giving verbals to the Wire 'fans' who did it. Hopefully they will be identified and banned.

A fair set of ratings. I thought it was a bit disappointing to see Musgrove making his way off the field with 6-7 minutes left. If hes not going to rack up a few minutes at the end of a game that is well over as a contest, when is he.

Without question. We were very good, but you would be very upset if your team came to a semi final and showed as little as they did yesterday. Very limited evidence of a plan besides 'give it to Swift'.

| The commentary on the game was embarrassing....semi final of the best known competition on RL and they put someone commentating who cannot even be bothered to learn the players names, even when you can clearly see their squad numbers! 'Harrison making the break & passing to Drinkwater' my 4rse!

| After the investment Ken Davy has made in Huddersfield, his patience must be really wearing thin with Ian Watson and Watson`s job must be on the line soon.
I was one of those advocating for us to sack Price and appoint Watson here and was disappointed when Huddersfield signed him.
Watson was great at Salford but the squad he has assembled at Huddersfield isn`t good enough and they needed a fast back and hooker NOT Tom Burgess.

I think these ratings are a bit over the top. It was certainly a very good performance, but Hudds. were poor on the day. Thewlis, much as I love him, made a couple of bad errors. You can't afford to kick the ball dead, particularly in a final against Wigan. He worked really hard, but Ashton was by far the biggest threat of our two wingers. Although credit goes to Thewlis for breaking a pad of beetroot juice on his head to try and get a penalty for us (LOL)).
Drinkwater's kicking was just ok, but his defence is a concern for me. I wanted him gone in the early season but I would have to admit that he seems to have upped his game considerably since then.
I would really like to have Wrench in the centre spot but Tai's defence and ability to take the ball up, considerably out weigh the elusiveness of Wrench in attack. King in the other centre is a shoe in simply because of defence, ability to take the ball upfield and his astute reading of the game when a break is on. Agreed he doesn't make many breaks but he has developed into a really clever player.
Top marks to Williams and Duffy. They can expect to get targeted by Wigan in the final though.

Not taking anything away from an excellent performance but it will need to be at another level against Wigan and Drinkwater's positional kicking will have to improve.
Tai plays for me. It is for Wrench to try and get the shirt back now as he is much sounder defensively and hits hard. Took his try well.
