Agreed, we do seem to have 3 left centres though and no natural right centre! I think the back 5 needs a resfhuffle, personally I would go with

Atkins, goodwin, brown, ratchford, lineham

Our back 5 wasn't great last night, I didn't enjoy ratchford at FB or Russel on the wing or Atkins on the right. Russel wasn't atrocious by any means, we know what he does well and he does that well consistently but he is too limited for my liking. Jack Johnson has impressed me at FB too when he has played there so could possibly play FB ahead of mitch brown. Atkins and goodwin can swap centre and wing like King and Atkins used to.

We need to find combinations that work and some willingness to run off the ball to give options to the halves. Clark made a few breaks and found himself alone which is disappointing. It was all a little bit blunt in attack last night but save 3 or 4 brainfarts defence was good.

Just seen a re-run. His torso is half over the try line when he gets hit. The problem with Ryan is that he has an ego and is a showboater. I hope he learns his lesson but I don't think he will. I don't think he is that intelligent.

I would put Currie on the right centre.

Still shouldn't effect his reputation as one of the best centre's in the league.

To be fair to Atkins and I know it wasn't difficult, but, last season and the previous season he was one of our better players. Sure, he has limitations most players do, but, at least he looked like he cared

I kind of wish Kevin Penny at least had another season under the new coaching set up to have a good crack at it. He can score those high flying tries.

The high flying part was the problem, a low dive for the line was required.

Worse than I remember it being.

He could have done four things and come out with more praise:
1. Slid for the line low and hard and scored
2. Slid for the line low and hard and maybe been pushed into touch or held up
3. Waited for the defenders and got the pass out to Russell to score
4. Waited for the defenders and tried to get the pass out to Russell and it might not have come off

What he did was the most ridiculous thing and shouldn’t have even been a fifth option but that’s what he chose.

I don’t know what’s worse, this, or Westwood’s decision at the end to run into their pack and end the game. Clark could not believe what Westwood chose. He was furious!

It was a schoolboy error, so Price should give him 100 lines

I've just watched it again on You Tube,looks far worse than last night.Put Atkins in the pack ( The Rochdale pack ) and Ratchford couldn't tackle a big dinner.

Shenton, Watkins, Cudjoe, Wardle, Sarginson, Connor,Percival, Sau.

All the above are far better centres. Key requirement for the centre is someone who can put there winger in, Atkins can’t do that .

Not cudjoe, he's dreadful. IMO possibly the most overrated player in superleague history.

Lol, let’s see. I rate sarginson, think he is a very creative centre with good hands.

I may have been stretching it with Inu, Webster and Wellham but happy with the original list.

Not bagging Atkins but he genuinely isn’t a top class centre, however last year he finally started to put in consistent effort each game, for me he is a 2nd rower now.

Think this has ran its course now, yes he bombed one, but he’s not the first to do so. Yes he’s not world class, but other than Watkins, Percival, Shenton and Gildart you’d be hard pushed to find someone who is in Super League.

There were many telling errors in the match, the Cooper bullet pass in the first half when we were starting to take control was the biggest for me. If he makes the pass to Brown we had Currie, Goodwin and Lineham in acres of space. Instead we turn it over, struggle to get out of our half on the next set which ends in the midfield bomb where Goodwin gets injured and we fall to bits for 5 minutes.

I think he was already planning what facial contortions, tongue movements and hand gestures he was going to do in celebration.
