It is a pity that the incident took so many of our players out of the game because it would have given us an overlap & we might have got a consolation try although i don't think it would have changed the outcome.

Sorry for deviating off thread, but thanks for ruining our night, a number of us waked fans were fortunate to be stuck in the middle of the Leeds end last night, needless to say we went anticipating winding the whinos up, shame you didn't help out!!!!!

Bailey is a pantomime villain not half as bad as people make out, he has stood up to other forwards plenty of times. He gets under people's skin. If that had been any other Leeds player I doubt all the left side of your team would have gone looking for him.

Bailey is an interesting character. Some fans dismiss him as an animal, while confusingly others claim he's a coward.

Take a look at his disciplinary record though and it's pretty damn good. Where he infuriates opponents and fans is that he niggles opponents so that they lose focus or give away penalties. That's a pretty useful feature to have in your side.

Bottom line is that he's played in 7 of the last 9 Grand Finals and picked up a winners ring from 6 of them, whilst being a regular selection for Daryl Powell, Tony Smith, Brian McClennan and Brian McDermott. That suggests he's seen as an asset by some pretty good coaches and contributed to a very successful side over a number of years.

Yeah, i remember him standing up to Paul Rauhihi..... then realised it was someone his own size and then ran away. Quite a 'Holy Grail' moment..... the Monty Python lads would be proud.

As for him being not half as bad as people make out..... tell that to the Wigan Academy lad he glassed after they beat you at Wembley last year. I'm pretty sure he doesn't agree.

He did the same with Gaz Carvell at Wembley (after trying to intimodate Chriss Hill and failing on that one as well).

Regarding the Wigan academy I am yet to see any evidence to believe this even happened. Certainly if he had glassed someone I am sure he would have been arrested. Just seems to be part of the myth surrounding bailey

...and this thread is the reason why there's a billion page thread about him on the Leeds board. If you can find one Leeds fan that actually rates Bailey ahead of say Peacock then you've found a certifiable idiot. He's a panto villain who wouldn't draw an ounce of the attention he does if Leeds weren't successful.

Classic Bailey

The bloke is a grade A bell. Niggles all the time, likes to drop on prone players especially backline players, has no grace. It's a shame because he's not a bad player.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if Bailey stood up to a hardman like Paul Sculthorpe instead of a small winger or second row, and then I watch the "Scully Bailey Biff" video on youtube and remember that he'd get battered.

This is a classic response to Bailey`s role in the team and a total misunderstanding of the man.

He distracts and annoys as many opponents as possible by whatever means necessary and, as his disaplinary record suugests, largely within the rules of the game.

The latest GF incident with Myler and 4 other Wires players is pure Bailey.

You might not like it but it seems to work and 5 top SL coaches have all picked him consistently to continue what he does best and he has numerous winners medals to prove this

I've just read the thread entitled 'Disgraceful,' and then come straight on to this. I've come to the conclusion that Bailey's behaviour should actually be on that thread. He constantly gives out verbals, cheap shots, and attacks the smaller players. He is, in short, a disgrace.
By the way, regarding the incident with Myler, the other players came to assist Myler, they were not involved in the original incident.

It's a shame for Bailey really.... when his career is over, despite all his medals, all he will be remembered for by the majority of rugby league fans is being a cheap shot merchant and a coward.

Only if this "majority" is made up of sad pathetic losers who dont understand the essence of, or the mind set of, a winner.

I have seen many many forwards hit Burrow high, bounce him around like a toy, jump all over him etc etc...including Warrington players. Are they all cowards and cheap shot merchants ???? Take off the blinkers my friend. Its a full contact sport there are no restrictions on who you can hit.
