I have to agree with the rest of the posters on here, it's a disgrace! Don't get me wrong I hate Sam Tomkins as much as the next guy but I wouldn't boo whilst he was playing for England. I just hope he laughs at it though, they hate him because he's good.

Don't think anyone knows for definate, unless they were there. I would have thought that most fans there tonight would have been Leeds' lot though.

Tis pleasing to hear everyone's views because it does now sound like a few minority. If the show was on the other foot, i.e. Briers playing, he would have easily got my full backing.

This sums up many rl fans in this country. They love to bang on and on about how its good to see 'young English talent' emerging and the future of the game is bright, and 90% of the players they reckon are young English talent are substandard at the highest level.

When occasionally a player emerges who has genuine ability, James Graham, Kyle Eastmond, Sam Tomkins, he becomes a figure of hate.

First time the booing was noticeable was when he did that crap, Miller sevens type run across the pitch; I thought somebody had been taken out off the ball in-front of the South Stand and Silverwood had missed it - very strange behaviour.

As somebody who was working at the event I had a free roam tonight and the booing was from Leeds fans in the North Stand and Saints and Wire fans in the South primarily.

Its disgusting to be honest I hate the lad with a passion but he has crossed that line in an ENGLAND shirt and as an ENGLAND fan we should be cheering him on not booing! As soon as the final hooter goes and his shirt is off say what you like about him but while he is on that pitch giving his all for the team get behind him!

Why does he get booed anyway? Hes a top class player..

IMO, booing him wasn't enough. We need to drive home the message that Sam is complete and utter scum. IMO, free Raynor KO t-shirts should have been given out.

I don't recall the same mass outrage when it was Danny McGuire getting booed by the Weegan fans while representing England at Wigan Athletics ground in 2009, nor when he suffered a possible career ending injury at the same ground in 2010 which led Weegan fans to tweet him that they hoped he'd broken his neck, legs, his career was over etc.

Im sorry I dont know how to quote but yes there were other teams fans booing but the MAJORITY were from the 3 teams mentioned.

Also when Sam got slammed by Meli in the first half a group of youngsters in England shirts ran to the front to laugh at him!

Well, the tackle was a heavy one, but it wasn't on his head. Crunched his shoulders though and Meli could be in bother for it since the legs went up.

As for the booing, it was silly and made RL fans look silly.
