He went through a patch where he seemed to have lost pace and kept stepping inside a fair bit, seemingly blowing chances that he would previously have scored.

Tbf I think it was during a priod where he had some injuries, but he still was off form and plenty of people (including myself) wanted him replaced.

chris is a true wire legend one of the best wingers we had in recent years. dont think williams will replace him penny will come back for next year afetr playin well at harlequins but smith kniows more than me so we'll wait and see

His two finishes last week were absolute class, and they showed exactly what his talent is.

A very solid player with great finishing ability.

See no reason not to give Hicks another year, fitness looks fine, no sign of age catching up with him, been a great signing.

You have got to be kidding! His hamstrings & groin are only just being held together, if he plays on he will hold up a quota spot & prevent younger guys coming through.

But he is still doing the bussines, if he stays next year i would wager he plays more games than Briers and hodgson. He may miss the odd game here and there, but no more or less than the other players.

Can't see him playing that much after this season. After all how many games has he actually played this year so far?

So that's almost a third of the SL season so far he has missed, and he missed a quarter of last year's too. Briers isn't a quota player and is far more important a player than Hicks. Wingers are easier to replace.

If this was Smiths thinking why give new contracts to Briers,Wood,Higham,and Gix, all have missed more games than Hicks in the last couple of seasons.

You need to weigh up the pro's and con's. Grix is still relatively young, Higham is pretty robust, Wood is a bit part player, and Briers is almost irreplaceable.

The other important thing is that none of them are on the quota.
