There's no point in paying a lot of money for covers or heating for a couple of friendly matches. Like Chester Wire said, why all this fuss about a friendly match? If we played and got a couple of serious injuries as a result of the conditions everyone would be whingeing about how stupid it was to play.

I'm gutted. Maybe we can get a supporter from each team to do the crossbar challenge to decide who gets the World of Beds cup?

Don't know as 2 games are enough to get the players up to match fitness.I noticed saints have now arranged a game at Keighley to replace the pies game, maybe we should be looking at something similar.

I know we have another 2 friendlies coming up Fearnhead as I mentioned but it's important we hit the ground running come the quins game.The more match practice the better I think and losing the Widnes game could end up costing us.
I was watching the 2009 season review on sky and Steve McNamara said he thought how Bradford had been messed about with their pre season had put the players off their stride.Hope it doesn't happen to us. Just an opinion.

Its called undersoil heating. Which i think there are only two superleague clubs that have it and they are Hull FC and Wigan, due to Premiership Standards. But waiting for someone to tell me otherwise.

Some people don't seem to understand this whole frozen pitch thing and the simple science behind it...



Covers would only have protected the pitch from frost....It would not have protected the pitch from the sub zero temperatures which actually cause the hardening of the surface....

and besides that i'm so glad we went to summer rugby, it is now a faster more open game and brings us closer to competing with the aussies.

Walked through Sankey Valley on the way to visiting my Grandad in hospital earlier, very slippy frost and ice everywhere and the canals were thinly iced over.

It's not just the white frost on top that they worry about but underneath gets solid as well, and it has been freezing all day anyway so the pitch would have never got soft.

There's less complaining about the game being off than there usually is at this time of the year if the game is on.

Aren't these pre season games the ones where everyone wants it to be half price because instead of seeing proper RL players, Aussies and the like, we are forced to watch young Warrington lads. Who wants to see that????
