for me the pack which gets on top of the other and allows the backs to flourish is key contest, bleeding odvious really i know before u all shoot me down!!!
our pack has had the upper hand in most recent contests with hudds
in the past i have always been wary of playing huddersfield due to the size of theit team
whilst i am never over confident when we play a top team i am predicting a wire win by 8 points!!

Seriously, we have sold out our adult and concessions allocation - not sure how many we got but i'm led to believe in excess of 1,000, so with juniors and pay on the day too its looking like a decent turnout by our standards.

to be quite honest, we haven't really played that well in recent games, we have been doing enough to win though.
I think and hope that baloo has been keeping something back for this game and our intensity levels go up.

Strange thought pattern, you say you have not been impressed by Hud, but then go on to say although they are second in SL it doesn’t matter because the real season hasn’t started yet, (i.e. Play-offs). So I would say if you’re right your thoughts about Huds so far could well be wrong, and they have not been in top gear yet either, or does your playing analysis for the season so far only apply to wire? On the game, I still think wire should take advantage of a home draw and win, but conditions could play a big part in the outcome.

Yeah, i'm getting shades of the Quarters in 2011 v Wigan, it was a blistering hot day then too, we had a dreadful first half and left ourselves too much to do in the second half, i had 'a feeling' before that game that i'm getting now.

I know its 30C down here, but it will only be 22C up in Warry tomorrow.

Two good teams who have had some good clashes over recent years. In big games the recent record is in our favour: we beat them at Wembley in 2009 and very impressively in the Challenge Cup the following year (probably one of our best performances of the TS era). In the 2010 playoff they blitzed us from the start and never let us get in the game, but in the 2011 playoff we nilled them.

Of the other top teams, I feel more confident about facing them in a big game than I do Leeds or Wigan, although we have a better record against Wigan than we do Hudds.

Against this, I think Hudds are a bit better than they were in 2009-11, whereas we are not quite what we were.

So I would say on neutral venue I would have put the percentages as 55-45 in our favour, with home advantage its more like 60-40. So I think we are favourites but it's not clear cut and would not be a surprise if they beat us. If Hudds do beat us I will support them for the rest of the Challenge Cup as I would like to see them win a trophy, they are a real role model for other SL clubs IMO when you look at how they have developed, they were the joke of rugby league in 1998-2000 and since then they have only climbed upwards on and off the field. They are now established as a force at the top.

The only reason I had the same feeling in 2010 was Briers was out injured. Tomorrow we have Briers and Ratchford to cause mayhem from ball in hand or foot.

i think i may not go the game today as wire cant win because its too hot,might as well stay at home in the shade unless we get a freak rainstorm like we did at wembley,oh wait,wire cant play in the rain either,cant wait for the snow,like the last time we played hudds at home!

I have changed from thinking we'll win to thinking we won't for the past few weeks but now I've come to a definitive decision.
