It was shocking condition wise when I was a member over 4 years ago so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. The surrouning grounds are an absolute eyesore as well, so hopefully it will now be used for something more useful.

The council run gyms in Warrington are fantastic right now following a lot of investment. I've been a member at TF and David Lloyd in the past at the Live Wire gyms are just as effective, if a little basic.

It says on the website anyone who has payed for the year will get refunds. Totally out the blue this my cousin works there and only got told last night. Looks like the council gyms for me.

Been a member there since it opened and not totally surprised as a few other clubs gone the same way notably Stoke On Trent.I quite liked it but agreed it needed money spending on it + What did TF own as by sounds of it absolutely nothing?Has the Orford Park gym got sauna + steam room facilities as I do like a chill after a session?

My friend worked there and they have been on notice period for months, fortunately the staff knew about it. No-one wants to be tied in anymore, especially at those prices, perhaps the other facilities in the area will take note. Wonder what will happen to it now, unless DW take over for when their building gets knocked down as part of the regeneration program.

It is a big piece of real estate.. perhaps Morrisons wants some coverage on this side of town?!

I've just arranged for mine to be transferred as I work around the Northwest I've been using different ones. The 50% reduction has worked out nicely for me as I rarely use the Warrington gym.

A friend of mine joined the Liverpool one just before it got damaged by fire and he got a full refund so you should be fine.

To be honest you may have had a lucky escape. If the swimming pool is as unhygienic as the hydro pool I wouldn't fancy using it.

The main ones were the locker room smelling of weed during late night visits, and a couple of times I've seen people shooting up in the locker rooms aswell. Could have been steds, could have been something else.

Jesus that's some rent.They must surely have been making a loss at that amount.No wonder they never did any improvements in all the years i was a member which was when it 1st opened.Imo no gym was as good as this certainly in space wise + the spa area was what most people liked + for £35 per month was quite reasonable.Quite sad when you get to see the same faces week in week out for years then boom but at the end of the day us members were the last thing the deal breakers were thinking about when they had pound signs in their heads.Just joined DW on a 6mth contract as i work in town + spend my weekends in Newcastle Under Lyme which has a DW so very practical for myself but would defo rejoin TF if they ever set up again which is highly unlikely under the current circumstances.

The last thing we need is more shops going outside of the town centre, as anyone who has been anywhere near Bridge Street in recent times will testify. We should be encouraging more business and retail in the rows of empty shops in the town centre rather than building new premises out of town (see also the expansion of Gemini Retail Park).

I don't think that website is updated anymore - look at the "breaking news" story directly beneath that one, it's from 2008! Hence I think the deal mentioned is probably from 2008 too.

Not seen/smelt anything like that there since i've been going. Why didn't you mention the whole shooting up business to the staff (likely to be steds)?
