Well when I started the thread I meant at the club for one season but actually the one good season nominations (Appo, Penny) are interesting as well.

| Kevin Penny was not a one season wonder.
He burst onto the season in the back end of 2007, getting the new contract etc. He had a very decent 2008 that included THAT try at Saints in the Challenge Cup, I think IIRC, a hat-trick against them in the league too.
It was really 2009 onwards that it started to go downhall badly, though by the end of 2008 it was starting to show.
He finished with a strike rate of 29 in 43 for us, pretty impressive.

| I think Kidwell did two years (2001/2002).
I recall him scoring in that great Halifax comeback on the opening day of 2002.

| I think a few of Steve Anderson's signings in 2002 just did one season, Dale Laughton, Leroy Rivett, Paul Marquet, Leon Felton.
DVDV had a few players for one year only, Brendon Tuuta, Adam Doyle and Dean Hanger come to mind. I would say Scott Wilson as well but I seem to have memories of him coming at the end of the season before and playing a game so he technically did a season and a bit.

Those 2002 ones stayed till the end of the season as far as I remember. Did Doyle and Tuuta quit midway through 1998?

rivvett went on loan partway through the season and never came back, i'm sure Laughton packed in due to his glass back partway through the year, and was replaced by a returning stevens.
Marquet was on the plane home before the last game of the season, so thats close and FElton went on loan to LEigh for the second half of the season and was featured getting his head taken off a lot in the NFP final against Huddersfield.
Ok i'll give you Tuuta, but i think he had an injury that he was struggling with and didn't play much towards the back end of the season, i thought he'd packed in like laughton.

| Neil Kenyon. Similar to Kev Penny in that he was here longer but had one great season where he went in for 20 odd tries, Similar strike rate too.

Another from the 94/95 season, Francis Maloney.
And Craig Teitzel only did 93/94 if I remember.

| I'm not sure about Maloney. Didn't him and Harris have some 'issues', which went on for a few seasons
Maloney and (Bruce) McGuire were meant to be the final peices of the jigsaw, after the 93-94 season...it just never happened

| Maloney was only here for 94/95. He was part of the exodus that left at the end of that season, him and Rob Myler joined Oldham, Bateman, Ellis and Barlow went down under and Rowland Phillips joined Workington.
We replaced Maloney with the former Widnes great Andy Currier.

| That season (94-5) was so anticlimatic, it was untrue. We were ready to kick on, but it just never happened...sad really
We got a pasting in the Regal Final by Wigan, some of my faves left (Phillips, Myler and Bateman), Maloney just never looked interested. McGuire, who's effort couldn't be faulted, just didn't perform at the level we expected (from his Sheffield days). Johnno seemed to be getting 'tired' and the whole season just petered out, with that 30 odd point snotting on Easter Monday by the Pies....that game really was the pre curser to the 80 point debacle, which was to follow 8 months later.

| Has any body mentioned George Herd, a hooker, who Alex Murphy appeared to pluck from nowhere? Looked a world beater then fell out with Alex and was never seen again.

Steve, you're right. He played a game at the end of the 2001 season as a trialist and was so bad that he fitted in really well with the dross that Steve Anderson assembled for 2002.
