Football League fixtures are not announced until July 16th. Huddersfield play warm up matches on August 4th so they are unlikley to be playing in the league 3 days later. Possible the season start will be "delayed" a week because of the world cup. The Leeds forum is quoting sporting life. The other sites (Wolves, Leeds, Saints, BBC, Sky, RFL etc etc) all say we are sunday

Speculation on the Leeds board coming from Sporting Life i think that we are being swapped to the Saturday game so Leeds v Saints can be played at the Galpharm on the Sunday just incase the football is on on the Saturday.....

I hope we are on the Saturday.

When are the venues said to be comformed ?

The RFL are holding a Safeguarding conference on the 8th August for the NW CWO's and all of the attendees get a ticket to the game so I would imagine the game will be in the North West.
By trying to work out what venue has conferencing facilities large enough to accomodate the Safeguarding conference I would think Leigh Sports Village would be the obvious choice.
maybe the international game is a tester for them to see if they can handle a major event??????

Point taken Wires 71 but they could always change their mind if there were any significant problems or find out where the shortfalls are and correct them before our game.
Cant see them making the NW deligates go out of the North West for the conference and the venue has to be within a very small radius as conference usually ends less that an hour before KO

THE Rugby Football League will be announcing the venues for the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi finals tomorrow.

Wolves will meet Catalans Dragons in the second semi final on Sunday, August 9, while Leeds Rhinos will meet St Helens in the first crunch clash on Saturday, August 8.

Rumours of the Wolves clash possibly being played in France are understood to be false.

Widnes Vikings' Stobart Stadium hosted last year's battle with Wigan, while Leigh Centurions' Leigh Sports Village could also be a contender.
