With the exception of Old Faithful I agree. Marching On Together is a great song but obviously it's not really an RL song (and no I don't support LUFC but it is a great song). Salford have ised a couple of United songs and Saints do their version of Sheffield United's Greasy Chip Butty which is okay but apart from that it seems 90% of fans in Super League learned their chants from Tim Lovejoy

I'm going next Tuesday and can't wait.

i have been to elland road mate and i think leeds fans are vile but the two men in question didn't deserve their fate,i have been to all the usual "hotspots" following united over the years,the point i was making is that you will get trouble in places like turkey and it's not all down to visiting fans.

Yes I'd forgotten all about Old faithful. That St helens one is pretty good too IMO, not entirely original but fair play to them, they manage to get some well thought up lyrics in reference to various aspects of their town.

Salford do OK for vocal support, small but loyal following etc but yes they do tend to take United/FCUM songs, and pass them as their own, but I won't slag them off too much as they at least do make a fair old racket when they want. I like their slow version of 'Salford reds arising'.

We at Widnes had a decent version of 'green and red of mayo' by the Saw Doctors, but only a few knew the full song, as guess what, it died a death.



As for Leeds away, as you probably established I am United fan, but 2 of my kopite mates are going, would have been 3 if 'Wire 85' wasn't being such a girl about trains home

Trouble does tend to follow the Ingurland boys and clubs whose fans have their mentality though.

Have United ever had bother in Turkey? I know all that "Welcome To The Hell" stuff years ago was Galatasaray V you but that was in the very early days of Turkish sides playing in games of that magnitude. Liverpool have never had any trouble at all (in fact many of our Euro away regulars have had pre-arranged friendly meets with Galatasaray and Besiktas Ultras in their bars (my mate goes to every one and has shown me the pictures - including him with Al Paslan of UltrAslan as featured in Danny Dyer's pwapa nawtee programme) and were treated as honoured guests.

Our fans don't behave like Leeds fans and I imagine neither do United's and we have both played in Turkey plenty of times so I think the tache is back is promoting a naive English view in all honesty.

The Turks I met personally in 2005 were absolutely fantastic and that was with 40 odd thousand "English" descending on their country.

A West Yorkshire policeman was with that group at the time and he also confirmed it didn't happen.

That was the Turkish medias cover up to make sure their innocent angels got off lightly. The same "passionate fans" who were giving all the leeds fans cut throat gestures in the ground.

united have experienced trouble in turkey,i think you are the naive one in saying liverpool fans don't behave badly in europe,who cost the english a long ban from europe?
i have several friends who support liverpool,everton,man city as well as united and the propensity for trouble is there at all grounds in all countrys,can you not get it into your head that it is not down to english travelling fans,some cause trouble yes but foreign fans in certain cities are ready and waiting to cause trouble.
this has happened in instanbul,rome and rotterdam,not always but quite frequently.

All these posts because of a supporter electing not to drum anymore. I think this thread is a good candidate for the bin.

ask yourself as a leeds fan "what do i think of man u fans" and i would imagine you'll come up with a sweeping generalisation,get over yourself all sporting clubs slag off opposing fans,you've done enough of it on here.

I've been on the end and seen plenty of unsavoury behaviour from your goodselves when visiting Old Trafford.

Oh, one more thing, most Leeds fans refer to your goodselves simply as "Scum", however I have many friends who support Man U and they're okay apart from their obvious flaw
