Heard a rumour that Atkins has had his contract terminated with immediate effect, anyone else heard anything?

Could be true,I read he has sustained another injury so he pretty much had no chance of getting back in the side.

Bit harshly put if correct...that's like sacked...whereas if things are along those lines, it's more likely that the club is good willing and paid his contract up as complete ahead in full term...not terminated.
Like a severance pay so he has a nice lump sum then pursue his hairdressing career.

I assume it's the type of operation that would normally take place at the end of the season however, if he didnt have a club he'd have to pay for it himself. So, maybe the club are are helping him out and making it easier for him to gain a contract next season.

I stand to be corrected but I think the norm is for the club to pay for any necessary surgery to a departing player at the end of their contract. A bit like getting the dents fixed on a lease car before it goes back.

It could be that we're paying for his surgery now and the rest of his contract.

Whatever the truth, I hope it's been on his terms. He's been an excellent servant.

So we seem to be shipping people out, is this prelude to another big signing or a few. Gelling is the only name consistently mentioned but like others have said Prop is priority.

I think it is with the amount of people we are shifting, making room for Burgess maybe? Supposedly tabled an offer for him even though we've said we're not interested.
