Which, if true, suggests Smith has lost interest in the job, and would make one wonder what our 'Head of Coaching and Rugby' is being paid for.

As I've commented on previous threads about smith, as good as he is I feel he's been here long enough the team needs a fresh input, new ideas, change methods , freshen thing up, although not many candidates about at the moment to provide a new input.

Rubber duckie I think you have got it wrong ken Kelly was not the last man of steel in the p and b, Jonathan Davies held the honour in 1993-1994 season while at the wire.

I can take Smiths point about all the penalties and Westwoods sinbin not helping, but you have to ask why that happens. For me it happens because we are not in control of the game or ball, and concede the pens in frustration trying to attain that control.

We haven't got the players to give us that game control.

Unfortunately Davies wouldn't solve our halfback mess...Jonathan Davies wasn't a half back, he was a centre. Mackey and Ellis were our halves....

People thought he should be a half back so he could get his hands on the ball more,he often played fullback too, but he was a sensational centre with unbelievable individual brilliance.

He was no organiser which was why he won the man of steel from mostly the left centre position for Warrington, and why he played left centre and fullback for Canterbury bulldogs.

He was our centre when he got his mos (thanks stew) award.

He got his mos award on the back of an excellent GB display, which so happened to be as a FB. A position he played at Widnes as well as stand off....
Positions of which he also played in PnB.

Exactly like how we played Phil Blake and Dave Whittle.

To be fair ive been ignoring your rubbish. .... And this above post is why. I've just stated Davies was a centre in the main for us. .I know he played stand off occasionally but in reality he wasnt that good there.....

I was highlighting the folly of playing players who are excellent in one position in a position they aren't as good in.....

I can't recall any. He did however play no1 for GB when he was playing 4 for us.
